........to see the bigger picture in major tragedies or events like this?

And also that the human psyche will always try and look for someone to blame or point the finger at in order to rationalise events?

In the absence of a true perpetrator to crucify (the abductor), they need to vilify and point the finger at someone else otherwise the event just seems meaningless and random and the human ego, which loathes disorder and chaos, cannot bear this?

Is this therefore a sign of insecurities that are present in a vast majority of people? The inability to accept the chaotic order of the universe and the constant need for a rational explanation.

This will also explain why there is little venom towards the perpertrator - they are an unknown entity.

Another example was the death of Diana - people first blamed the paparrazi but when they were cleared they blamed the driver who only had one glass of wine and then when that failed they looked for conspiracy theories.

…when in fact it was just a simple car crash………one of many that occur on a daily basis………but people could not accept that this chaotic disorder could strike such an admired person……..the ego could not bear it.

Why cant you see that its the celebrity status of the mccann parents that people find annoying?

Not the missing child.

What i cant understand, is how anyone can condone the actions of the parents. Firstly, to go on a "family holiday" and yet put their children into the creche all day. They only had them at lunchtime - When the creche closed. So for most of the time the kids were with strangers, on a "FAMILY HOLIDAY". Then in the evening the parents went out with their friends, and left the three kids alone in the apartment. The eldest daughter was of course "abducted", but anything could have happened. A fire, a chocking fit, the kids could have waked and hurt themselves - eg Climbing, or with a knife. They could have wandered outside and drowned in the swimming pool. All of this is fine by those who support the Mccann's. Why? Surely it is very irresponsible parenting? Then there is the issue of the money. £850,000. How exactly is it being spent? There is NO accountability from the Mccann's. It is NOT being spent on finding Madeleine. All i want is to see justice done. The parents must be held responsible for neglect - neglect of normal parental responsibility. Que all the hate filled insults now. Why cant Mccann supporters answer questions? Instead there is a tirade of abuse.

I was going to say that you are wrong (AGAIN) Bluebobblehat
but to borrow your line, your..........ego could not bear it.

It's not the first time (umpteenth, to be honest) that you have made sweeping generalisations about people on here that you know next to nothing about. Why do you repeatedly (in nearly every answer/question you have posted) refer to the forming of an Anti-McCann mob? I never see you refer to a Pro-McCann mob.

Perhaps, if you could set your prejudices to one side for a moment and stop looking at the McCanns through your rose tinted spectacles, you might actually come to the conclusion that this is not mob mentality, this is a number of people (from right across the class spectrum you appear so fixated upon) who are expressing genuine concerns and making valid comments (on the whole) about matters of disquiet.

Sadly, I doubt you will do this and I KNOW that Piltdown Man is already past the point of 'no return' - he's quite amusing actually as most of his abuse seems to suggest that he has an inferiority complex. His 'About Me' is quite revealing too and one quick glance at some of his puerile posts will confirm his level of intelligence and mindset.

The anti-McCann sentiment comes from, it seems, a certain mental level that tries unsuccessfully to drag everything else down to that level.

The people ranting against the McCanns have not done so in moderation, in fact they have been like the SS banging round all over the place.

Human nature finds it natural very hard to accept disappearance or death of the young and turn them into some sort of saints (Diane, Elvis, Marylin), look for answers else where when in the end there may never be a right answer or the answer is so simple it is difficult to comprehend. This in turn creates all sorts of emotion empathy, grief, anger etc
The only facts we actually truly know for sure in this case are.
1: The Mccann left three children under four alone in their room whilst they ate out.
2:They checked on them but the time frame is vague and one child went missing.

Was window broken open? Was patio door left open?

That is the reason people react the way they do they do not know and the second biggest part is the way the Mccann's have reacted to the situation.
Now their reaction will and has appeared bizzar to many but you only have to look at case such as the Lindy Chamberline case is the 80's the whole of Austrailia made her guilty due to her cold hard approach to see people can and do react different to trama.

People go with gut feelings and people go with cold hard facts hence the difference of opinions.

I am a practical logical person however this case is odd and questions need to be asked.

I hope Madeline is found safe and her abductor is caught but it is common sense to anybody of any mentality that you never leave children alone!
The main problem everyone I know has with the parents is there reason for leaving the children alone is they did not want to use the babysitting facility at the hotel, however it is fine for the babysitting service to care for the twins whilst they walk along the beach without there children!

If the Mcanns were unemployed, lower class or single parents instead of doctors they would have been judged more unfairly. Also if people left their children alone and Social Services knew they would be arrested for neglect, not campaigning for money to go on a 'tour'!
Saying that though I hope Maddeline is found safe and well as soon as possible.

I don't class myself as part of an "Anti McCann Mob", but it would be fair to say that there are elements to both parents that I struggle with. I have made these perfectly clear in previous posts.

Yes I agree with your point to an extent. Humans are extremely emotional complex beings and I believe in many situations we feel it necessary to apportion blame.

Undoubtedly, whoever has taken Madeleine is the most discusting, revolting lowest form of plankton on this planet. TO be honest bluebob, you make a fair point. We disagree alot on the McCann debate, but in terms of the psychology of what is going on, I think you make a good arguement.

However, I can only speak for myself and I dont think anything I have said has been said in a meaningless and random fashion.

You talk about the anti McCann mob and looking for someone to blame - is that not what you are doing by calling all those who think the McCann's might just have something to do with their child missing because - fact- they left her unguarded in an unlocked room backed onto a highway? Of course people see the bigger picture, but they look at the source, the reason why the abduction happened in the first place - based on fact. You also talk about the vast majority of people showing signs of insecurity. In psychological terms you are projecting your own insecurities on others. Yes of course the human race seeks for a rational explanation before exploring other possibilities - its called common sense. And yes there is venom towards the perpertrator but unfortunately we do not know who he/she is and there are no clues or rational facts/concrete reasons to go on.

Not at all.
I wouldn't say I am part of the 'anti-McCann mob' but I believe that they committed neglect and should be held accountable for it.
The main priority at the moment is finding the child, and I don't for one second take away from the parents anguish and pain but when they issue public statements such as 'we do not feel to blame' angers me, when - as far as I can tell from the majority of opinions of friends, family and people on here - parents generally blame themselves for anything that happens to their child, whether it be stubbing a toe or breaking a bone. The fact is the McCanns left their children unattended out of their own selfish reasons, and if they hadn't done so, their child wouldn't have been taken. FACT.
Therefore, while I agree that there is a bigger picture to focus on at present, I still find myself asking questions.
Forums such as this one exist for the purposes of debate and discussion and it is natural that people are going to question the McCanns actions. It doesn't mean they've lost the ability to see the bigger picture - its just that the bigger picture is not something that can be debated.

EDIT - Having read Piltdown Man's comments further down the page I can't decide whether to laugh at his ignorance or pity him.
People are making reasoned arguments as to what the McCanns did wrong in the first place, which was to put their child in a vulnerable position. Piltdown Man, however has made an outrageous claim that we are envious of the McCann's wealth. Where on earth has he got that from? What has that got to do with anything? Why don't you base your argument on fact and put forward an intelligent answer that actually has some relevance, you juvenile!

people are just questioning their behaviour which they are entilted to do . also its a very mysterious case and no-one knows what happend so people speculate as the media have been doing from day one. the reality is though there are evil people in the world and some of them are parents unfortunatly so of course some people suspect the mcanns of something. even if they find madeleine and find out who did it there will still be people who suspect them.

Well said grasshopper....

The anti mccann mob is just what they are...they are a mob of cretins who are incapable of interpreting differing viewpoints...a spitting mass of ill educated morons who are unable to see beyond their twisted noses.
They are a pack of hounds who want to smell the blood of the abducted girl and therefore feel vindicated for their sociopathic opinions. I do not understand why they are venting their putrid spleens on the parents and not on the monster/s who abducted Madeline. It is they that are mostly in the wrong is it not? or is it normal and acceptable to steal something which isn't locked?
