Are people just cowards who have invented guns and other means to overcome their general inferiority, so that they can prey on helpless innocent animals? As it says in my Bible, every animal has a soul. If it doesn't say that in your Bible, it's time you bought a proper interpretation of the scriptures and threw that out-of-date version in the closest trash pile.

My friend was appalled that I had the news on in front of my 1, 5 and 9 year olds. She thinks kids are too young to understand what they see on the news and they shouldn't be exposed to such things.
I feel as though they should be exposed to the goings on in thier community and the world. I don't want them to be sheltered from what happens in this world, good or bad...and I help them interpret what they see through conversation and life experiences.
I'm not an idiot - I do not and will not allow them to watch adult themed movies/TV shows or play video games featuring violence, etc. But I WANT them to know that there is a war going on and I want to talk to them about and have them make up thier own minds about it. I want them to know that people have the capacity to harm/kill others and that you always need to be aware of that. I'm not going to lie about the world to my children.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this subject and how you handle these things.

There are many forms of torture that do not cause lasting physical damage, but inflict great psycological harm.

If you were in charge, and it was up to you, would you allow these tactics to be used against suspected terrorists?

What if you thought it was the only way to obtain the information that would prevent a large scale terrorist attack?

And what about this question... what about using torture against known and proven terrorists who are already in custody? People already convicted? Would you allow them to be tortured to get the information you need to stop a terrorist attack?

Personally, I would not condone torture in ANY of the above situations. I think it should never be used against anyone.

What do you think?

OK.. I recently found something out that I simply cannot believe. I am in the military and there is a soldier in my unit who is HIV positive. I wasnt supposed toi find out to begin with so I dont know how long I have been working with this person while they are positive. The Army WILL NOT discharge this person and even worse, they can even reenlist. I am not prejudice in any way but how in the hell can this be allowed to happen?

I have been transported in the same vehicle with this person countless times and if we would have crashed and out blood had mixed... i would have HIV. Even worse if he was injured and I didnt know he had HIV, because I am not supposed to know in the first place, I would hepl him and possibly get his blood on me without even knowing. How can the Army or the government allow its soldiers to be put in harms way like this. Does anyone with any real knowledge in this subject think I have a case to bring up to anyone? Is this crap right?

I'm sick of seeing the idiots on tv tell us that if someone is black and poor they can say ANYTHING tlhey want to because it is art, but if you are white you better shut up. Does anyone think else think Imus was an artist? Just because he is white and wasn't jumping around on stage in a sweat suit grabbing his crotch and spitting in a microphone when he used the word "ho's" he got fired. Give me a major break!
