Especially given that the USA helped rebuild Europe after coming to its aid in WWII (e.g., the Marshall Plan, loans to the UK etc.).

It is easy to find reasons that support how humans have caused global warming, I would like to know if anyone has strong reasons opposing this current belief.

I thought with the passing of the Brady Bill into law in 1993, if you had a history of mental illness like this young man certainly did, you could not purchase a handgun in the U.S.? Did the gunshop let him buy the guns illegally?

As title.

To make thing even worse

Now the video and people started to guess what intention behind, some even making up stories on their own. The drama list seems getting on and on.

If guns are no longer available to the public then it wouldn't have been so easily have gotten into crazy or criminalistic people. It's the stupid law that we have in this country that which allows guns to be purchased by anyone who can register. Whoopi Doo! Register and you're suppose to be ok with that??? Why do we need to bear arms anyway?? There's absolutely no need to have guns other then to shoot to kill!!! That's what Guns are for Shoot to kill not shoot to injure but kill!!! Don't tell me it's not the gun but it's how it's used! I've heard it before but that logic is flawed. If no guns then no shooting, right? So what's so hard about that logic?

What happened on Monday was one of the most emotional times in alot of peoples lives. One thing I have thought about alot since the shootings were, "Could something of been done to prevent the shootings for going as far as they did?"

My main though was that there were so many people in the room during the shooting, and Cho Seung-Hui was only using a semi-automatic pistol. I was just wondering if any of the victims had ever thought of a possible barracade or a raid to try and get this psychopath undercontrol or dead. There were desks in the room and tables that could have been used, also chairs. The main thing that made me think about this is during the Columbine shootings, one of the victims whom was a wrestler could have gotten one of the shooters under countrol after he tackled him. I understand that alot of people dont know how to act or what to do in those situations but I would love to hear some feedback from you.

I will continue to pray for the familys and friends.

Look at the violence that is glorified on television, in video games, on the internet (www.ogrish.com), in theatres. Listen to and watch the glorified violence on records, tapes, DVDs, in magazines....etc

What do you think ? The guy committed his mass murders, left his "most important" message behind, and the media gives him all the airtime he could ever want or imagine ever having. Is the media, all pop media, furthering his agenda ? What do you think ?

This is a Socratic question, I am not taking sides. I just want to ask objectively if it is true, as was asserted by others, that Hurricane Katrina proved that the U.S government specifically discriminated against black people by not helping them.

As most people will be aware, a student in a US university decided to kill lots of people.

Many people have been talking about gun control or I am sure others will talk about finding and locking up the crazies.

But I want you to imagine, if you knew the guy, or if you know someone like him. What would you have done, what could have done. Imagine you were his classmate and he told you he was thinking about committing mass murder. Could you, with a few kind words prevented it?

What attitude will you take into your normal every day life that may prevent such a tragedy happenning again?

That being said, I too am finding myself trying to make sense of it. I guess there is either blaming it all on guns (or lack thereof) or going into his mindstate to make sense of this senseless loss of life. I felt like through reading about him from just what little there is about him on the major news headlines...I got the sense that this kid was severely troubled and obviously very very ill. A lot of times school shooters are seen by others as somewhat normal...but somewhat withdrawn. People said that Cho Seong Hui never said a word. In his letter he said he was upset over charlatans, debauchery &rich kids. Honestly I can see how that thinking could drive a sick person over the edge. He must have been sick to begin with &pressures of living in a new country with different and strange ideals that maybe didn't fit what he had originally thought about the U.S.. Maybe it shows his anger for his disenfranchised opportunities &he wanted to take it out on those who had it better than him??

Trying to make this myspace page grow rapidly. It would be nice to have a mass amount of prayers, condolensces, love, etc., for the VT victims and their family and friends. Hopefully if it becomes large enough, students (and parents of students) at VT will see it, and will take comfort in knowing that so many people are grieving with them.
Just add as a friend, you will be accepted, and then you can leave your comment when you return to myspace.

xoxo Thank you

The shooting has been labeled by the President as the worst mass shooting in American history, more lives were lost than at Colombine. Is there just no safe place anymore.I feel like more could have been done to prevent this horrible tragedy.Begining with getting the shooter help when his teachers became aware of his violent and twisted thoughts. He wrote papers in this manner."He was a troubled young man".and was there not any security in the building? I am not blameing anyone but who else thinks it could have been prevented or at least caught after the first shooting earlyer at the dorms!
