With strict gun control laws and enforcement, and better mental health facilities, it might have.
This isn't the first and sadly won't be the last act of this kind.
Everytime, we have school shootings or disgruntled employee shootings, the same questions are asked.
Nothing happens. Congress will hold hearings, a book or two will be published.
But in a year, or two, we will again be reading those same tragic headlines, in the paper.
The vast majority in this country, want Gun Control, but with the Republican Party and it's large, seemingly bottomless, payments, from the N.R.A. nothing will come of gun control laws.
Only when the people are outraged enough, to throw those who suppport the N.R.A. out of office, will the changes we need, be made.
What will it take, a hundred dead young people, a thousand. dead youngsters. If this massacre, won't do it, what will?

It probably could have. So many schools have such low security. The killer should have gotten some counseling long ago.
However, I don't think anyone should go right ahead and talk about how it could have been prevented yet. The families of the victims just need some time to mourn their dead without hearing about how the deaths could have been prevented.
In time people should look at how it could have been prevented and try to prevent things in the future.
