no it doesn't. our federal government is not to interfere with the states unless ask to by the state, parish, or city government official. the President called several times to offer help and was told NO. this is forgotten. first it was the mayor's responsibility, then the parish, then the governor's. why didn't the mayor gather the school buses and take the people out of town? the people would have had a ride and the buses wouldn't have to be replaced. to blame the federal government is a copout. how many terrible hurricanes has Florida and the east coast had. yet they didn't sit blaming the federal government. they took responsibility for their own actions. the governors helped their people get out and then helped to rebuild. they, too, had divestation. they didn't receive the kind of government help that New Orleans did. there were no donations like New Orleans received. by the way where is all the millions of dollars that was donated? Mississippi and other states had homes and businesses destroyed, yet they didn't receive much news coverage. why is that? New Orleans residents received so much more from our federal government than any other city or state at any time of a hurricane, which proves the opposite. sorry about the length, but the answer is NO.

Blacks weren't the only ones affected by Hurricane Katrina, however it does seem odd to me that it took America so long to help fellow Americans but the jump anytime there is a tragedy in another country. They give and loan the country money and then they later "forgive" the debt, but they don't do this for their own countrymen (black or white).

No. The problem was more that accomodations for the very poor were not made. Remember, a lot of folks who remained in their homes either chose not to leave or didn't leave because they had no transportation to do so. The city of New Orleans dropped the ball on that, not the Feds. Evacuations in other states with substantial black populations seem to go smoothly and include the very poor. The mayor of New Orleans can pass the buck as much as he wants, but it was his watch to be sure that the very poor were addessed in the evacuation plan.

I live in Denham Springs, Louisiana. The suffering that I see on a daily basis that is still going on is shared by all races alike. My 360 profile has a slide show of pictures I took just a few months ago. It still looks as though a hurricane passed through here a week ago. And all races are being thrown out of their FEMA trailers. It is sad to watch the news here everyday. There is HUMAN suffering here...period. Not to mention the problems with the insurance companies right now.And the highest murder rate in 15 years.

no it doesn't mean it doesn't care about black people, it means USA is quite unorganized and the "it would never happen" story.. it really bloils down to New Orleans WAS FOUND AS THE most CORRUPPT state in the USA, many told this would happen, but the leaders did nothing.. no plan was made ahead of time for this as it was hidden.. And for the black people complaining, if that is all you do , that is all you will get.. I have black people in our family, the DO not complain, they succeed.
saying things like nobody has helped us, and nobody cares, is wining, not doing anything.. Everyone is an American living in America, the people that don't blame move ahead. The people that complain and blame stay down. fact. why do some many foreigners that come here do better then most that have lived here all their life, FACT. they don't blame and complain.

They didn't need Katrina to prove America doesn't care about Blacks.
Anything America has done for the Blacks they've had to be shamed into doing it or have their arms twisted behind their backs or they were threatened with a law suit!
I've said all along the Katrina victims should have thrown a towel over their heads and pretended to speak a foreign language then the American government might have come to their aid.
Same with the American Indians there were once more American Indians in America than any other race. Now, they're not even mentioned when the race issues come up! Why because they were all murdered for their land and so the American government didn't have to pay them for any treaties that were made for their lands. (Beware World the U.S. governments word isn't worth a hill of beans!)
The illegal aliens are now the new minority because they'll work for slave wages and eat road apples.
The Blacks are being exterminated now as we speak and will be the next race of people in America to starve to death die of disease and kill each other and themselves. It's a physiological game you see. Don't laugh because the MIDDLE CLASS is next!

before everything, conservatives are no longer racist; yet sometimes they do enable race play a factor in politics. even although, racists do no longer make a majority of the Republican social gathering. yet, the clarification why we conservatives are against the assumption of socializing well-being shelter the entire U.S. it relatively is a ludicrous theory, pernicious to the entire tricky artwork human beings have placed to learn their money, their domicile, and their placement in society. u . s . grow to be based on the assumption of the "laissez-faire" and all of us comprehend what it is: the government preserving their damn palms of our money human beings have worked earnestly for the so reported as sturdy of all society. Conservatives like that concept. no person desires to offer their money to a pair fool who did no longer do sturdy at school or is obviously no longer able to evolve to the calls for of the international, and then, no longer be waiting to speculate in extra useful issues; issues which may be useful to their families, church homes, communities, etc. Katrina wasn't Bush's fault, it grow to be the unfavorable people who have been affected by it. human beings affected by Katrina have been normally low-income people who Bush, does no longer choose for to spend the government's money on. Say if Katrina handed off in long island, it would be an fullyyt distinctive tale -- probable the only you liberals might choose for to take heed to. human beings come to u . s . to compete to get as wealthy as they might get. whilst they discover out that their multimillion dollar corporation money are going to someplace, the place they'll on no account see it lower back, and could help somebody who they have not have been given any theory who they're, then they're going to get pissed off; for this reason, the conservatives. think of roughly this: no person desires to offer their tricky earned money away.

There are others races who lived in New Orleans, not just African-Americans. I don't think the U.S. goverment was discriminating. However, I strongly believe that they were careless with not solving the levee problems ahead of time, as they were aware for many years that the levees needed reinforcements to prevent flooding.

People keeping saying this, but nothing this country (or world for that matter) has ever done really shows concern for my people.
Any good thing done en masse (say the civil rights acts or enforcement or even the abolition of slavery) was done in response to worse problems, not out of conscience.
No one cares about those people, at least outside of humanitarians, real Christians, and just plain nice people.
And there are so many complex issues involved with Katrina: the environment, the long history of politics of Louisiana, poor leadership, economics, class structure, low education, etc. that it is very hard to address.
Those of us who care will keep addressing it step at a time.
