I would phone all of my family and friends from all over the country and all meet in Picton(South Island NZ). So two days maybe to get everybody there. Invite other people for their knowledge and worth like doctors, nurses, teachers, builders, engineers, fighers and the like.......ANARCHY WOULD'VE INDOUBTEDLY BROKEN OUT SO GET TOGETHER WITH PEOPLE FAST AS TRAVELLING IN NUMBERS IS BOTH SECUIRITY AND CAPABILITY. TAKE WHAT YOU WILL NEED-FAST AND FROM ANYWHERE nobody owns anything now and it will literally be a case of immediate looting and stealing for 'need', the ultimate would be to get most of what you need from DUNEDIN (IE, A CITY OR LARGE TOWN NEAREST YOUR EVENTUAL DESTINATION) - MOVE TO THE MIDDLE TO LOWER HALF OF THE SOUTH ISLAND-MID-OTAGO-10HRS TRAVEL. CREATE A 'COUNCIL' TO FORM AN IMMEDIATE STRATEGY, FOLLOWED BY A CONCISE BUT INFORMATIVE MEETING FOR ALL. the remaining 4 days would be getting as much completed on an underground bunker and storage system OTAGO WAS A GOLD RUSH REGION SO LOCATING ONE THAT CAN BE FIXED FOR BOTH IS A QUICKER OPTION THAN TUNNELING.
YOU WOULD HAVE ORGANISED A LIST FOR ALL TO ACQUIRE ENROUTE AND BASED ON ATTAINABILITY AND EXPERTISE like, food, clothes, blankets medical and building supplies, animals(livestock, dogs, chickens etc vegetables and seedlings, vehicles, tools and HEAPS OF FIREARMS AND WEAPONRY. You'd need to put your minds right to this list as it will be pivotal.
IT'LL BE A CASE OF AT FIRST SURVIVING THE EXPLOSIONS AND FALLOUT..........
and then...........
then the story 'really' begins............. :)

Throw my 11 year sobriety out the window and get wasted every day. Trying to find cover is a waste because there won't be anything left after it's over. So better to go out in a blaze of glory, than a slow agonizing death.

Update my will--just in case my will survives the blast and I don't! And I would take iodine supplements.
I would study the wind currents and maybe travel where I think the winds are most favorable; or maybe not. Maybe I'd stay and watch.
It would be an awfully great adventure.

Try in pushing the button and make a quick run for the door in planet of apes.
Then will know what to do in planet of apes.
Will miss all the glory of "My home-town" in planet of apes.
With all the great American Dreams turning into smokes and ashes with "Kiss me good-bye" all lost in space forever to a point of no return in planet of apes.

Clean up my basement and make it a place we could live - pending survival. Then I'd stock up on supplies: water, non-perishable food, radio, batteries, let hubby get that gun he's been wanting, etc. I'd also contact all of my loved ones to say "I love you" one last time, just in case.

veronica. no one and no nation will give such an advice, one week, one day, one hour, not even one second -- hope it helps. so your quasi question-response is hypothetical and makes sense only in fictions not reality. the short answer is i will continue living the way I do now...(are u still there? or here?)

I would go to church. There are still a few virgins left... (not many) but they are waiting for a special time and this sounds like the right time to me
