If you had the chance to be one of the first colonists, would you go? Why? (Please don't be rude).

Well, SOME peop;le missed the point. First of all, this is a hypothetical: Would you go if it were possible?
Second, it's MY hypothetical, which means the laws of physics don't apply. Imagine NASA has invented some type of stasis chamber that will keep you viable for 120 trillion miles, or whatever it is.
Now. Anybody want to try again?

Assuming (always a silly thing to do on the Internet) from your name and pic that you are female, I'd be happy to come along but we'll have a big responsibility to populate the new planet together - just the two of us.

Hello! Alice k.
No I would gladly stay on planet earth until such time my heavenly father decides to remove me.
He created the universe therefore His reason for this discovered planet will be revealed in His time.
Take care!

Yes, this can help economically and militarily. Colonization can lead to new technological developments depending on abundant resources. It would prove for better strategical area for the military and pave the way for a 21st. century space army. I can also capitalize on land and become the next Donald Trump of a new territorial planet.

The farther ahead we are to our enemy, the better we are in security. Peace through strength

yay, another planet we can ruin. I'd think about it. With the knowledge that we have now, we'd still ruin that planet, but it would take longer.
