Why is it that in cases like Va Tech and Columbine, when the
murderers kill themselves and are unable to be questioned, the media automatically starts placing blame elsewhere. In the Va Tech scenerio it's the campus security for not reacting sooner. In the Columbine case, they tried to make Harris and Kleybold out to be the victims, not the agressors. And do you think that had the killer/killers lived, they would close the case and soley blame the individuals?

Columbine, the Oklahoma City Bombing, and now the Virginia tech massacre, all happened on or within days of April 20. Does it have to do with April 20 being Hitler's birthday, or is it just coincidence?

I just watched an interview with President and his wife, done by Charles Gibson on ABC about the shootings a V. Tech. Did it look to anyone else like Bush had been crying?

The vile crime that happened yesterday and the way the media in the US dealt with it drew my attention to something striking: why wasn' t the culprit called a 'terrorist'? I think this is a systematic illusionment of the American people, because they want the word 'terrorism' to be attached to someone who is Arab or Muslim, or someone who is tied to these epithet. What do you think?Descent answers only

What should I do if someone is shooting at ME? Come on gun control guys, help me out here. What is my alternative if you take my guns?

I asked a question that was kind of unorganized and it has many great responses but not in the way I wanted it; my bad.

I am curious what the public thinks:

1. How would you treat the killers parents if you met them?
2. On what aspects can you blame them, if at all?
3. How will this affect the parents' future?
4. Would you agree that the parents of the killer need as much support (or even MORE support) in the aftermath?

I am very curious what the public response would be to these very important questions. I really feel for his parents.

PS... remember, this question is regarding ONLY the killers parents. I am not interested in anything else at this time. Thank you!

The latest news is he killed them all with the Glock and the .22 was not used. He must have had to re-load numerous times. There had to be at some point an opportunity to stop him, right? Does anyone have any input on this?

Every time I see his photo, I cringe. At least put it on the news page but not the front page. He needs as little attention as possible. Mourn the victims. Do not glorify the killer with any more attention than needed. Anyone agree?

I am interested in learning more about the sick writings he wrote. CNN refused to broadcast due to the violent nature of the works. A link or more in depth description would be appreciated.

For some reason I cannot concentrate today after everything that happened yesterday. I just couldn't imagine going through what everyone at Virgina Tech went through. I can't stop thinking about it. Has this horrible tragedy effected you in any way?

Why, in every ad or picture featuring George W. Bush, do they put the photo up where he's in mid sentence so he looks completely and utterly retarded? It's kind of annoying. I mean, they probably tell their photographers "Hey...make sure you get a picture of him while he's in the middle of talking." I don't remember the last time I've ever seen a picture of the man where he didn't look stupid from being in the middle of saying something...or if I've ever seen such a picture at all!

PLEASE don't answer with things like "because George W Bush sucks." or the like. I know this...we don't need to hear it 20 times from 20 different people.

I am extremely distraught after hearing the news of the shooting/ massacre at VT school. I myself attend college and although you may not know everyone personally at the school , you feel a bond and relationship with them somehow, I am sure those of you that attend or have attended a college know what I mean, or for any school in that matter. what could have caused a person to be so evil?

All I can imagine is the terror and horror that the students and teachers felt and how they must have begged for mercy before he killed them. how can you look at a person begging for theri lives then kill them? I wish he lived so he could suffer in prison? do you ?

Also after 9/11 people became prejudice towards anyone who looked of middle eastern descent, will this cause you to look at asains differently?

please pray for teh families and friends of those who lost their lives.
may you have a blessed day!
