Columbine, the Oklahoma City Bombing, and now the Virginia tech massacre, all happened on or within days of April 20. Does it have to do with April 20 being Hitler's birthday, or is it just coincidence?

Please understand that if you focus on evil you will come to this conclusion.
One of the greatest gifts from God that I have received was born on April 20th. She is an inspiration to those around her and is one of the most caring people I know of. Remember that if we dwell on good things they will consume us. If we dwell on the bad things, they will consume us likewise.
The most recent massacre at Virginia Tech was certainly a horrific event that was brought about by a person letting evil thoughts takeover his actions. This event did not take place on April 20th and as you state it is within days of April 20th. We can link terrible events together if we think hard enough by where they occur , when they occur or a number of variables. However on these same days Mothers and Fathers all around the world received the gift of a child. And the one truth that we need to remember and take to heart each day is this:

"This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 118:24

I think it all has something to do with Hitler's birthday being the 20th. The boys who were responsible for the tragedy at Columbine said in a note they left that they picked April 20th because it was Hitler's birthday. I guess that people choose this day because Hitler is considered one of the most evil people who ever lived. Maybe they do horrible things on that day to honor or remember Hitler is some way.

And Acrobatic: Hitler was born on April 20, 1889.

I am sure the event which happened that got world wide and national attention because it hits closer to home.

Like the rest of the writers here, I have to say, Evil happens every day.

The evil isn't always so heart wrenching to the entire nation or on the world news as the Irag situation or the Virginia Tech one.

We don't always see or read about the other evils, but they happen just the same.

I think it's the time of year (this pertains to the events you're talking about in the US). It's just toward the middle of Spring. I think winter makes people depressed and spring seems to drag out. I think if summer, and more sunlight, came quicker that people would not be so dramatic and drastic with their thoughts and actions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming mother nature completely. This is just one point that I think offers some insight as to why?

As for the school related events, I think people get burnt out after "Spring Break". This was always the longest and most stressful time of the school year for me and I don't think I'm alone in my thinking on this one. This is probably when most students feel the most pressure.

The tax idea was pretty funny, Chrissy, although not very likely. ;)
I agree that evil events happen every day of the year, and that it has little or nothing to do with the date or time of the year. Satan's hand is in as many situations as he can manage, so it's not surprising that so many awful things happen, especially nowadays (the end times).

There may be some slight influence of the changing of the season but mostly it is just coincidence.

Because Hitler was born on April 22 (it's true).
... Actually I believe evil events happen every day of the year.

The date has nothing to do with it. The crazy lunatics will do what they want when they want. The date or time is meaningless.
