virgin media are saying its sky who have taken away the service of sky 1 and so on but sky are sayin its virgin media who do you believe and how do i make it work to my advantage?

I am currently at University (UK), due to graduate in early July with a BA in Archaeology. It is my ambition to become a journalist and put my natural investigative talent to good use, although I only decided upon this career path since starting University- hence the unrelated degree.

As I have no experience in this sector (save good writing and photography skills that I have been working on for years), what would be the best place for me to start? Ideally I would like to end up as a freelancer with good experience of how the trade works (having built up a list of contacts).

A friend recommended going to the local city weekly after graduation and seeing if they are taking on any 'juniors', then moving my way up to the big daily publications before even considering striking out on my own.

Is this the case? And if so, how should I approach my first weekly; is it worth making preliminary contact even before I graduate? What about training and wage in this position?

why is that if the official knew about the problems that was going on at the hospital that they let it continue? It only took the defense secretary to read a article in the paper for anyone to do anything about it. my stance on that is they want the reporters and newspapers off their back. what do you think?

I said in another post I thought Anna Nicole was ugly. But they have been showing pictures of her younger. I was surprised, she was very pretty. When she started trying to look like Marilyn, in my opinion, made her ugly. I for one didn't find Monroe georgous, I really can't see it.

allow local news stations to hype up weather reports for ratings? Most of the time when they give bad weather here they stay on the air urging us to stay tuned and then it turns out uneventful (thank God). I just think crying wolf makes us less likely to beelieve them in case of a real emergency.

The good side of US news, etc? Like eyes-only in Dark Angel series? Same with CNN getting hacked to show good things about Israel? In fact, why don't we show more than 60 seconds of positive world news?! There's lots of good things that happen where I live that don't even make the local news! How about you? Are there lots of really happy cool things that don't even make the news? Seems like the world press is preoccupied with gorey, depressing and scandalous news.

I need to find out exactly what happend with the tragic story of my boyfriends cousin J.P.my boyfriend served 7 yrs. in prison after being charged with man slaughter of his cousins murder.It was a drug deal that went bad but my boyfriend and his cousin were together the shooter wanted to kill both but only was able to shoot the passenger which was J.P. my boyfriends cousin he was in the driver side and thats why my boyfriend was charged with manslaughter and parole which he is on now,the shooter is doing life without the possibility of parole.This happend in Strathmore California about 9-11yrs. ago The newspaper that followed the sad story is the Porterville Recorder.Can you help me find that story.I need details
