Yes, agreed. I see a lot of people who are treated horribly every day. Teachers and couselors don't do nearly enough for these kids. They're not doing their part. He was sick and needed help, they should have recognized that.

"sure, blame the victim"
"its his fault"
"think about the victims"
"no one does that"
"hes a creepy loser that no one likes or wants around"
"go back to china"
apparently, some of the answerers here refuse to acknowledge ur valid point
obviously, it isnt a justification, esp. since the victims were random... only a psycho would believe that... however, i wouldnt feel too great if people started to use unprovoked racial or personal slurs on me... simply cuz its funny or whatever... and give it a decade or two, even patience and kindess and hurt turns into hate and vengeance
kindness may not always beget kindness, but violence will most often beget violence

As I read on I am learning the meaning of "Bleeding Hearts". I guess Attila the Hun and Nero where abused when they were children, let us forgive them for the horrific crimes they committed.
All humans suffer and endure incredible emotional turmoil, when they quit enduring, they become mentally ill and that has a lot more to do with the
weakens of the person than the cultural or peer abuse. When an insane individual lashes against the imaginary ghosts that persecute them, he is past the point of pity or sympathy, you can not categorize madness as a happy or unhappy state.

You know life isn't a bed of roses. A lot of people get hard knocks during the course of their lives. But 99% of them don't grab a gun and go out and start shooting everyone that moves. This is not a question of being "kinder" to one another. This is a question of #1 teaching our children to be more emotionally resilient and #2 stop finding excuses for people who are just plain evil.

the Victims are those who were shot - and those who were killed.
Here is what is sad a Shoa survior was killed in another act ot hatred. Very sad. He stood up and gove his life so other would live.
there were 32 Innocent Victims murdered. There were more then a dozen other victims shot and injured, there were countless victims who scramled to live and have vivid pictures forever in the minds of friends, teachers, classmates being murdered - and the shear terror for their own lives.
No, I am not sorry, he is not a victim.

We do need to be kinder to one another - but, I have not heard WHY the shooter went on the rampage - too early to call him a victim also.
