I would like to send my views about the headline news so that it will be read on TV in the segment The Inbox for viewer opinions regarding the hottest news. However, when i try to navigate the CNN website it seems I find only the section where you can post general comments regarding programming.

With the amount of guns out there, is it simply too late to prevent mass shootings? Almost monthly here in Las Vegas, there is a student caught with a gun at local middle and high schools! What are these kids doing with a gun at school? Is it the gangland mentality? Is it rap, and glorifying drive-by shootings, that is part of the problem?! Sadly, the question is not "IF" another school shooting will happen, but "WHEN".

of how we, the regular citizens, can make the media work for us and report the news versus sensationalizing human tragedy?
Almost all the major networks are saying they will stop airing the VT video and or limited it's showing because of the upset all over and all the complaints about how tacky it was to show it.
What do you think?

NBC News is owned by General Electric Co. ABC is owned by the Walt Disney Co. CBS is owned by CBS Corp. CNN is owned by Time Warner Inc. Fox News Channel is owned by News Corp.

Why is it OK in the media's view to show the video of the VT killer over and over and over, and yet, we never see video of the planes flying inot the World Trade Center because the media feels that it is too sensative and sensational and might offend someone?

I'm not the biggest Bush fan but she should really put a filter on that big mouth of hers. For those who missed it she said something about him taking over a week to get to New orleans after Katrina and he was at VT the next day, I don't see how she can even compare a natural disaster with a massacare.

Over the past few years, I have noticed that more and more Americans are willing to limit or restrict their own freedoms in an effort to shut other people up. Why?

In the wake of the Cho video, so many people are upset with the news to have shown it.

That is the news medias JOB. They are supposed to show news events, even if they are upsetting. If you can't handle it, you shouldn't watch it.

As far as inspiring other potential shooters... that is not the medias fault. We should not promote censorship to avoid someone maybe, potentially, perhaps doing something stupid.

Are 300 million people supposed to be kept from receiving public information just because a few dozen potential morons may copy this guy Cho and also go on a rampage?

Are we such a sissy society that we are willing to give away our last freedoms in some pathetic collective hope that we all remain safe?

No one would massacre 32 people for a persoanl grudge. It may be politically motivated like the 9-11 attack.
His political motive should be investigated. His videos and letters mailed to NBC clearly indicate that his act was politically motivated.

In his political manifesto, he railed against wealth, materialism, privileged class, debaucheries and Christian hypocirisy. Calling himself as Ismael Ax also supports his political conviction. His mentality is same as the 9-11 attacker.

His political message should be regarded as important. Don't just dismiss him as deranged. Further investigation into his suicide attack should look into this aspect.

Today when I checked my mail I saw a picture of that Cho guy pointing a gun straight at me at the top stories section. Is it just me or was anyone else sicken by the choice of picture yahoo used? Did they even think that some of the people that use Yahoo go to VT? how do they think the victims felt when they checked their mail and saw him yet again pointing a gun at them? I am really disappointed with yahoo.
I already wrote yahoo to express my feelings on the choice of picture. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way?

Are the subsequent bomb threats resultant of CNN politicizing
and sensationalizing 24 x 7 the tragedy at Va. Tech?

...as a sign of respect to the families of the Virginia Tech victims. I think the media is completely out of control. Whether it's NBC airing Cho Seung-Hu's manifesto or any of the others for dragging familes/victims/witnesses through the mud for thier own ratings gain. I understand that the story is interesting, but we can get our news from the internet. We can live without them for a week. These are people's children... not a media frenzy. Don't kid yourself into thinking that any of one of those reporters gives a crap. They Don't! Give them a sign- turn them off for a week.

This question/posting was originally posted by 'skypecrack'. I think it's a great idea. Spread the word. Pass it on. Repost this question. Do something. Turn them off! Turn them off!

I feel such sympathy for the parents of the people who lost someone because of the Virginia Tech shooter. And believe it or not but I was feeling just as bad for the parents of the shooter, can you imagine that your child is not only dead but that he was the cause of not only his own death but that of so many other children.
I have 4 kids (30, 29, 25 and 19 years old) and if one of them had done something like this I would just want to die. The sorrow, guilt and remorse I would feel would be overwhelming! I must admit I would not want to be attacked by the media but I would have a spokes person for the family (Church pastor maybe) issue a statement of apology.

He was a weak, feeble minded person. He wanted to be remembered as a strong person with a voice that had something important to say. Do you think 10 years from now you will remember any of the victims? You will certainly remember his name. How is that fair? The media is showing all those other twisted people out there, that killing people will give you notariotity, it will make you immortal, important and never forgotten. That is some powerful stuff for someone who is feeling like an outsider.
How can we let the media know that this is so very wrong?

It's not contanimated pet food...as the newspapers like to call it...it's poisoned food--rat poison-and there's anew batch coming to theaters near you!! You would think, that the US would've done something more to prevent this second batch of dry poisoned food into the USA?
I buy all my pet food from my VET because I don't trust the pet food industry to have the safe guards in place to worry more about my pet's life than their bank account! WHy aren't the american people more outraged??
Is it becaus eyou feel helpless, voiceless, impotent in changing anything? Why? Please explain.

"WASHINGTON - An industrial chemical that led to the nationwide recall of more than 100 brands of cat and dog food has turned up in a second pet food ingredient imported from China. "

It just seems really irresponsible to me, and overshadows the losses we have all suffered by making him the posthumous center of attention. NBC has made his dreams come true, at the further expense of those who are already suffering. Shame on them!
