It's not contanimated pet food...as the newspapers like to call it...it's poisoned food--rat poison-and there's anew batch coming to theaters near you!! You would think, that the US would've done something more to prevent this second batch of dry poisoned food into the USA?
I buy all my pet food from my VET because I don't trust the pet food industry to have the safe guards in place to worry more about my pet's life than their bank account! WHy aren't the american people more outraged??
Is it becaus eyou feel helpless, voiceless, impotent in changing anything? Why? Please explain.

"WASHINGTON - An industrial chemical that led to the nationwide recall of more than 100 brands of cat and dog food has turned up in a second pet food ingredient imported from China. "

Vet--abbreviated for veterinary food brands.
I go to my Veterinary and get food, for those who thought Vet was a brand of food.

I'm greatly concerned for my 3 dogs . Friendly and fun and playful dogs that I Love .
What's even more disturbing is that when the first contamination story broke , there were some sites that listed 50 brands, others that listed 88 , and others that listed over 120 !!
So which one was right ? This is bullsh!t that we can't have the correct information given to the public . And greatly concerning that it even happened once , let alone a second time now .
I went on 'menufoods' website when the first problem occured . Although other sites and the news stations were repoorting that either 88 or 120 plus brands were affected , Menufoods(the source of the contamination) was only reporting 53 or so !! WTF !!
It's either 53 , 88 , or 120. . . . . . why isn't there a central agency that is responsible for giving the correct numbers and not wildly conflicting numbers ?
And where's the Headlines about what they're doing about it ?

BTW, I asked a question about this when it first happened and at least one answerer gave me a very, very enlightening answer that I was unaware of . First of all , pets are considered 'property' by law . Therefore , people can only sue and recover losses based upon the 'market monetary value' of their pets . I don't like that part , but I knew that . But what's even more disturbing in his answer , is that it is the Veterinarian's Lobby that is blocking any change in the laws .
Why ? Because they don't want to be able to get sued for malpractice and have to pay any more than the 'current market price' of our pets !!

What about the Hill's Science Diet food that was on recall and that was a prescription diet you get from the vet? I mean I don't think anything is safe unless you make your own pet food. I am suspicious of everything. I hope they resolve this situation soon.

I'm very concerned. I use dry food and thought I was in the clear. But I think they are working double time to deal with this horrible situation. Life is imperfect sometimes and it's not always the government's fault.

If you knew what they do with meat meant for human consumption you wouldn't be so surprised. If you think there has been a great shift in cleanliness since "The Jungle" you are being lied to.
