Point being that a 17 year old can buy guns and ammonition and kills like 32 people without rational nor emotion .. pure bloody rampage. The exact example that america(n) need to settle their arguments with blood shed and killing....no matter how futile the argument sometimes can be

My opinion thank god gun laws are stricter here in europe. And please don't confuse the "world at war" with this... it's like comparing apples to pears.

who says Americans are more aggressive? Germans? Japanese?Saudis?
Sure , Americans respond to aggression in a decisive manner ....but let's examine this question....If I get punched in the nose by a bully who threatens my existence or my families life....then I will respond in a way that will neutralize the damned bully!
So, in my scenario...who is more aggressive? The bully, or me? In the end, I'm safe so that I and my family can prosper.
Do I think the tragedy can also happen in Europe? Go to the library and look for a video series called " The World at War" it's a BBC documentary. This should answer your question adequately.

Of course they can happen in Europe. They have happened in Montreal, Canada (1989 and 2006); Dunblane, Scotland (1996); Sanaa, Yemen (1997); Osaka, Japan (2001, and no guns used); Erfurt, Germany (2002); and Beslan, Russia (2004). There was another one Just this month in Afghanistan, April 11. There are undoubtedly more that I don't know about.

ANYTHING is possible, but as likely ? No, I would tend to think that the European attitude towards guns and the relative difficulty of obtaining firearms, added to (as you pointed out) ours being a much more aggressive culture would make such an attack less likely.

Although.....there was a mass killing at a Russian school (last year I think ?)

In other words , we asked for it, You say Europe as if it is on some far off planet, Don't forget your own V.Techs. that may not have occured on a campus were just as horrible. The incident has only brought to the forefront, an ongoing issue, It is time to close the doors to America. Since we are so aggressive why would any one want to come here?. You forget we are NOT hanging out signs saying vacany : please come to America, I think as a Country we have helped enough countries including yours I am sure, Your arrogance in posing such a question, makes it glaringly obvious those helping and generous contributions of millions sometimes billions of dollars were not appreciated. And your are mistaken in your assumptions of our ignorance: Virginia Tech. as you so sarcastically and without sympathy referred to ; was the catlyst as it were.Things are going to change> Americans are no longer going to BE put at risk. We are learning a little late perhaps, who the true aggressors ARE, we are not asking Europe to help feed our Country. No we have continued to help others, As an American I say enough, It is time to take care of our own, And the next time Europe is invaded - Not our problem, since we are so aggressive. DEAL WITH YOUR OWN COUNTRY BEFORE YOU START MAKING COMMENTS ON OURS. YOU AND OTHERS LIKE ACROSS THE POND AND WHERE EVER ELSE YOU ARE , YOU WISH YOU HAD HALF OF THE FREEDOMS AND ADVANTAGES THEY WE ENJOY AND TAKE FOR GRANTED, BECAUSE IT OURS, WE FOUGHT AND DIED FOR THEM, DO NOT THINK YOUR COMMENTS WILL BE APPRECIATED OR TOLERATED IN THE FUTURE.

Indeed, the in-your-face/out-of-my-face, me-first, you-suck culture of America, especially with the hugely violent media, helped encourage this act, but to pretend as if Europeans are immune to anarchy or spiteful, desperate violence is foolish, and, like one poster subtlely mentioned, almost poses a challenge to the picked on kids (if any) in Europe.

This had nothing to do with "American Culture". The guy was a Korean immigrant, and he was probably messed up before he ever hit America's shores. In short, the answer is YES, this could happen anywhere.

It could happen anywhere, at anytime, do not think for one moment it can't or won't happen in Europe, all we can truly do is pray that it doesn't. God Bless.

that situation can happen any where .but it's a shame that something has to happen first then people start to think what they can do to keep it from happening again .even if it already happen people still think that it wont happen.at there school or work place.
