...as a sign of respect to the families of the Virginia Tech victims. I think the media is completely out of control. Whether it's NBC airing Cho Seung-Hu's manifesto or any of the others for dragging familes/victims/witnesses through the mud for thier own ratings gain. I understand that the story is interesting, but we can get our news from the internet. We can live without them for a week. These are people's children... not a media frenzy. Don't kid yourself into thinking that any of one of those reporters gives a crap. They Don't! Give them a sign- turn them off for a week.

I disagree. How will you ever learn if you don't pay attention? Isn't that what this madman did?

This is a huge story. As a child of a former newspaper editor I can tell you something: no news is NOT good news - its better to know the bad news so that you can, if possible, do something about it. You can turn off the TV, but the news will still go on. And tomorrow when you haven't watched the news or listened to the radio or read the newspaper or magazines you will be eaten by the escaped lion that you didn't know about because you didn't read or listen to the news. Don't blame the media for the bad news - they didn't do the killing - they just do the reporting. Should they have not told anybody about 9/11 because it might upset some people? This is the "kill the messenger" mentality, and its time it was stopped, permanently.
