Because his crime wasn't politically motivated. In fact, he didn't seem to have an agenda at all. It was just a stupid, pointless, random act of violence.

You guys have the most distorted idea about terrorism I've ever seen !
Terrorism : to terrorize people .. that's it
Didn't the victims feel terrorized ? Didn't their families do ? Didn't the entire nation do ?
That guy should have been called a terroist too , but since America doesn't care about muslims or how they feel it's okay for them to call muslims terrorists , but Korea is a strong country so America shouldn't harrass it ..
Don't you get it yet ? This is a jungle .. Survival is for the strongest .
May Allah rest all the victims souls .

My initial guess was that it was a terrorist acting out, and then ultimately doing himself in.
Only this case is about a distraught student who was really against the establishment for his own personal reasons, and not being part of a group thinking the same way.
That makes him an isolated case, like many others from the past, of students who have issues that never get the attention they need...and now it's too late.
So, I can see where better monitoring will have to be included with the curriculum.
Hope this answer meets your satisfaction.

A terrorist is somebody who commits acts of violence against harmless third events for a particular political purpose. there is not any info in spite of that this became into the case at Virginia Tech. As on your factors: a million. fake. The shooter is from South Korea, a democracy for sixty years and a powerful best pal of the USA. 2. actual. So did Ted Bundy, yet he became into never stated as a terrorist. 3. actual, yet as quickly as back no longer appropriate. Many stress shooters kill themselves to ward off punishment. 4. Unproven. He ought to have been disturbed and his innovations ought to no longer have been mainstream, yet that on my own would not make a terrorist. if that have been actual, Rush Limbaugh may be on the no fly record immediately. Being a disturbed radical isn't a criminal offense, nor would desire to it incredibly is. the area isn't one in all terrorism via definition. it is going to in all danger pop out that the guy became into failing his classes and below unreasonable cultural expectancies to fulfillment. it incredibly is basically yet another unhappy case of too plenty stress with too rapid get entry to to weapons. The terrorists place self belief in human beings like bin Ladn for help, yet this person maximum in all danger depended on Charlton Heston.

It was not a act of terrorism, it was a act of just another mentally ill person who fell through the cracks. Please look at this situation with some intelligence. This boy was referred to Administration "Several" times for some of the things he wrote. The higher ups didn't heed the warning once again. Now hundreds of lives will be forever changed because they didn't want to take the time to see to it this kid got the help he needed. Just because he was Asian everyone wants to jump on the Terroist bandwagon. The fact is Mental Illness does not discriminate. Now is the time America needs to come to the aid of the Mentally Ill. I pray for these famililies and victims of this tragedy, But this will not be the last time something like this will happen. Nobody just wakes up in the morning and decides to do things like this. There were warnings, people who do these things give signs. The question is Why didn't people see them? because of ignorance of the Mentally Ill mind!!!!!And he wasn't stressed at learning the English Language, in fact he was a Senior in English Literature, so i'm sure his English was quite well, he has been in the U.S. since age 8.

Many factors to consider, was it a hate crime,
what was the motive, was he mentally ill, and the
answers from that would label what he was. The
important thing here is to analyze what should have
or could have been done to limit or prevent the
terrible act. America is such a free country that
many times things are overlooked on how to pre-
vent or control occurances from happening such
as 9-11., and campus shootings. More money
needs to be spent on dealing with internal prob-
lems within the turf of america and less money
spent on useless wars, as too many fatal things
are happening on american soil, mainly because
america is behind ,solving many home issues. As
an american I live overseas because when I was
in the military and defended america for 22yrs of
my life when I got out I was not given the medical
services promised for my injuries of war, and
america let me down like a lot of other veterans.
However the main reason is because america is
not safe like before and one could be here today
and gone tomorrow, if you live in america. Check
the statistics and see how many americans are
now living overseas because of the problems that
are piling up in america.

Didn't he kill himself also? He went in with intentions to kill but didn't go after the government. Went after an area of civilians. Terrorism is threats against the government. That word strikes fear ... and fear is not what the families of the poor victims need right now. He was a mass murderer. I believe that the media correctly labeled the shooter for what he is.

terrorist (plural terrorists)-
One who governs by terrorism or intimidation; originally applied to an agent or partisan of the revolutionary tribunal during the Reign of Terror in France.
Anyone who uses terror as a weapon in a political struggle, frequently in an attempt to coerce a more powerful opponent, such as a government.
Since it didn't involve government or politics, he's not technically considered a terrorist, although he got the terror part right.

Well, he is sick, but technically he is not a terrorist, but this doesnt make him a better person by any means. He wasnt in a group or did this to promote a point or argument. As a matter of fact, no one knows why this creep did this. Dont worry, he went to the same place after his death as the terrorists. So he shouldnt be too cold.

I'm sure the students felt terrorized, but lately that seems to be a termed reserved for Muslims and those of Middle Eastern decent. People have been trained to profile others here.
