totally unacceptable to name a teddy bear Muhammed?

Does anyone see a slight problem there?

2007-11-26 23:26:00 · 37 answers · asked by Anonymous

As an Englishman and owner of many major US based companies I feel I must ask this.
I am a very important international business magnate, but I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the constant bickering on this site.Opinions are great and are welcomed, but the repeating of questions, bragging and personal insults which litter this site are spoiling it.
I speak for all of the Americans I own when I say "Please use this site for its purpose=A business and learning tool"
Thanks for your time

Teddy bears are lovable. Kids love them. There is nothing derogatory about them. What is the problem in naming one Mohammed??? If it has to be connection to the revered Prophet, isn't this a sign of love???

This is not a case of like when the British named their pigs Adolf, which was very justifiable.

I do not understand why the Sudan people are upset.
They should be happy & perhaps a little amused at their children's innocence. Why the horror of a flogging over something so innocent?

to make sure that the case of Gillian Gibbons is dealt with "properly" as he was in the case of the McCanns or have the government gone back to their policy of not interfering in foreign internal affairs. Oh yes, sorry I forgot, Gillian Gibbons is just a primary school teacher from Liverpool, she doesn't work on Government committees or have influential friends in high places. Will any rich benefactors come out of the woodwork to help her, I doubt it. This poor woman who has spent her life CARING for children rather than neglecting them will be left to face the music alone over her mistake unlike the McCanns whose "mistake" has made them millionaires.

Recently Advocate Ali Ahmad Kurd played a leading role in estblishing rule of law, raising against military dictator Musharraf, in Pakistan. He bravely lead the struggle to re-establish supermacy of Supreme Court. He is so thin and slim and has a fragile frame. But his fiery speeches made him target of torture and punishment. He was bodily lifted, badly beaten and thrown in a police van. But as soon as he was released he came back as a lion to attack the tyranny. His leading character has given courage to othewise timid legal fraternity.

Another Kurd I can recall is Salahuddin Ayaubi, the King who single handedly beat back the onslaught of the crusaders.

Recently USA and Turkey agreed to fight unitedly against the Kurds. Are Kurds being persecuted for being descendents of Salahuddin? When Arabs, Balochs, Iranis and Turks live peacefully in Middle East, why Kurds are not allowed to form a homeland. by combining the provinces with
Kurd majority in the Middle East ?

As our best poet said, The times they are a-changing". The most hated country and only super power - at this point in time - the United States appears to be losing influence every day. For example, Australians have just voted to end 11 years of Conservative rule which means - I think - that our down-under friends may soon withdraw their support of American interference in foreign civil wars. Big business is also opposed to the Kyoto Accord to fight global warming. But with the exception of Canada (our cold banana republic to the north), all nations approved tough new clean-air regulations. Canada was obviously instructed by Washington to vote NO on grounds that some major polluters - such as China - were not part of the Accord. In other words, let's do nothing until everybody's on board.

It seems like there has been so many reasons/lies (depending how you look at it) why we're there. I don't even care about the latest news headlines about how progress is going over there, or what bush is doing. It seems like Bush is a test to the american people about how much we will endure. Just the fact that he's still in power means, patriotically, we have all failed. Does anyone feel this way or is it just me? How many lies will we hear, and dead ends will we be lead down until someone does something?

It is learnt that Trenor, the mother of "Baby Grace" and Zeigler, the step-father who battered her, met a couple of years ago playing an online game, World of Warcraft.

Are friendships that start on such a trivial footing as an online game a bad way to start a long term relationship?

Should one be wary of people who forge strong ties on the net on the assumption that they can't in REAL life?

Muslims inc The Muslim council of britain have came out in backing the teacher and her actions.
It now turns that it was the children who chose the name not the teacher, some were christian but the majority muslim.
A Muslim on the tv this morning has said that this is extremist's deliberatley stirring up racial and religious tensions.
His words were if my children called a teddy Mohammed i would be deighted as it showed their awareness of him.
He went on to say that nowhere in the Koran did it say you could not name an object in his name but, you could not build a statue or create something in his image incase you started to worship that item instead of God.He said the sudanese Authorities should wake up and stop this before it went to far.

There is this kid at my college and these days I have seen him holding up a political sign about the war in the middle east (Israeli's). Just yesterday I saw him with a bruised face. Why is he still holding up the sign!!! He has enemies. I wanted to shake him up and tell him to wake up. Who's going to listen to him??? He should just come up with a website and express his thoughts. Should I talk to him and offer him my perspective. It really hurt me to see that a person can not see the danger they are putting themselves in. Should I forget about it and move on? It's o.k?
