This isn't a pro or anti McCann Q...so lets try & put our head together for once...ok?!

I'm begining to believe that there are 2 schools of thought with regards to finding missing children :
1. Some experts believe that a wide media coverage results in the public easily recognising the child which leads to a quick finding of the baby.
2. Some experts believe that its better for Police & Private investigators to go underground, lulling the abductor into a false sense of security, leading them to come out with the child when the child is rescued & abductor is nabbed.

Now, i don't say that the McCanns were wrong to immediately opt for full coverage of their missing Madeleine.
They were obviously advised by experts who know more about abductions than any of us here.
Also, being in a foreign country, they had to attempt the quickest option & its a fact that wide coverage normally results in quick findings.

My Q is what is your opinion? Which option do YOU prefer?

Its obviously a very very tough call to make as its simple to see that wide coverage leads to the abductor getting into a panic which could be dangerous for the child. At the same time, wide coverage is a known surefire way to ensure that people keep their eyes & ears open for the child which is vital for the child's quick & safe return.

Personally, i think that tho' option 2 may take longer, which would be a nightmare for both the parents as well as the child, it is a safer option.
God bless little Madeleine & her grieving family.

Ernie Allen, head of the US-based National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, has repeatedly told the McCanns that their campaign could be the key to finding her and he believes she may be alive (statistics show very young children are less likely to be murdered). Nobody will care more than them - they are the primary activists for Madeleine. He is convinced to keep the focus on the search for a live child. If they stopped their campaign, then people will forget about Madeleine. Hope and the tireless public campaign is the KEY to finding her.
Public opinion is a fickle thing; the public has a very short memory and easily gets bored. Two months after Madeleine’s disappearance the story has become stale with no new developments (which was extremely distressing for the McCanns) and then the McCanns became suspects (which is a terrible position to be in; being accused of killing your own child) but as a consolation, the new developments have inadvertently ignited public attention and the media back again. Some of you might say that the attention is on the parents not on Madeleine, but every time the parents get mentioned so does Madeleine’s name and her photos.

My cousin wasnt able to get to his dad's send off into the great beyond. Should I tell him the truth about what happened?

We soberly buried the old guy and paid our respects.

Then 15 mins later we had our first taste of whisky. There were uncles giving lectures on Ancient Irish history. The men all started telling jokes and the women became frisky. By 5 o'clock in the evening every b@st@rd there was pissky.

The Russia of today is not the USSR, but many Americans still hate it. Doing things like patronising Putin and installing a "missile shield" on Russia's border are extremely stupid.
Russia will turn East, where they can sell all their oil and gas and be treated politely. It is Europe which will suffer, but America doesn't care about that.

In NY state, the governing body is implenting a plan, while the infrastructure is already in place on some highways, to catch speeders using the ez pass system. If you do not know, ez pass is an elecrtronic device you keep in your car to pay tolls without stopping. This device has a microchip with your unique id number that leads to an account for paying the toll. Soon they will catch speeders by placing scanners on the highway that will do the math of how fast you go by how quickly you hit each gate. And the ticket will be issued and sent to the owner of the vehicle. Apparently, they say the positive side is that they can track terrorists, kidnappers and criminals also.

I see our freedoms in america becoming less and less. Soon, something as american as a young man wanting to feel the speed of his new mustang by letting it out on an open road, will be a thing of the past as any speeder any time of the day will be punished.

Does anybody see where this is going to eventually lead?

Stop and think about this the world's only Military Superpower (USA) cannot crush the the Iraqi Freedom Fighters after four years of combat 2003-2007 (4 years) or Defeat the Afghanistan Freedom Fighters after 6 years of combat 2001-2007 (6 years).
The USA spends more money on it Military than the rest of the world combined with it's aircraft carriers, spy satelites, jet fighter airplanes, thousands of soliders in Iraq and afghanistan, what is taking so long to finish these wars?
The President keeps saying america is winning so does all of the military people but these wars just keep going on with no end in sight, the Iraqi People and The Afghanistan people want the US Soliders out of it's country so does the american people and the rest of the world as well only Bush wants to stay the course and be in these countries,is this crazy or what?Meanwhile the US Economy is going downhill, it would make sense for the US to withdraw from it's overseas adventures, what is your opinion?

This is not American bashing but this is one of the biggest travesty's in this country today. It's embarassing that some countries in the world with much less money than the United states can somehow get healthcare for everybody. Others in the world gurantee free healthcare for everyone. But how can a country as rich & properous as America can deprive 4 million of it's own people healthcare? I hope that whoever the next president is will make this a top priority.

Seems to me that many "users" did not lose.

The latest case being Martina Hingis, who just tested positive for Cocaine use. But, let's also look at:

1) Barry Bonds
2) Lance Armstrong
3) Bill "I didn't inhale" Clinton
4) George W. "I didn't exhale" Bush
5) Barrack Obama who has admitted to Cocaine use.
6) Mick Jagger & Keith Richards

The List goes on and on.......

I heard yesterday that he might be an illegal alien, but someone said he was an American citizen. Now Last I read, he was released to the custody of his parents. So does this mean that if you are underage in your state, you can get away with something like this if you say you are sorry? What is happening with all of the people who lost everything ot the fires? How do they feel about it all?
