i dont think so!....the information the guys on the ground got from there superiors was that the guy they were following was a known terrorist suspect.in there minds he was a terrorist.
the question is..where do you draw the line between taking the shot and stopping the threat at the risk of it being wrong. or being to scared to pull the trigger and risking another mass killing.
if he had been a terrorist and they held back and dozens of deaths resulted we would be crying out for reasons why this man could manage this when the police had a chance to stop him.
im not saying they made the right decision but im not for putting them up on charges for murder either.
this is a "war" on terror.it is not gonna be clean-cut or risk free. lets not tie there hands in this fight.

No. Police officers who shoot and kill someone shouldn't be punished in any way, whether the criminal was armed, unarmed, or not even committing a crime at the time. Police officers have the obligation to protect public safety and the right to go home at night without being shot by some thug.

The Crown Prosecution Service has already decided that there is no case for any individual officers to answer. The recent trial has shown a culture of disregard for public safety by the body whose job it is to keep us safe. If this happened in the military, we'd see a few generals reduced to the rank of private - but the police don't work like that. Instead we've had a pointless trial with a large sum of money to be paid by one government department to another, and a lot of fat lawyers getting even fatter at our expense.

The poor guy didn't stand a chance. His life was cut short in seconds. I think the officers involved should be taken off firearms units but not charged with murder.

Yes they should!!! they killed an innocent man in cold blood, and then lied to try and cover up for his killing. What I would love to know is why did they let him get on a crowded train if they thought he was carrying a bomb, (even though he didn't even carry a rucksack) That's the state of our British Police force, how bloody awful!!

I agree with the rulings, but I don't agree that the officers who shot him to take the blame. They were only doing their jobs. The one who gave out the wrong information should take the blame.
However, this is a good ruling as it tells the police that they are not always right, and they shouldn't abuse their power.

The commander of the operation should be charged with manslaughter but they won't you can never win with the establishment so I wouldn't bother if I were you.
The establishment look after their own always it stinks but it's true.
I would concentrate on the reasons behind the tragedy truth justice and liberty for all (some) the haves and the have nots the good and the bad the strong and the weak the list goes on and on.

People like you make me sick..
The police officer involved had a split second to act on an order that was given by an unarmed offcer in command.
They don't have the use of hindsight and the guy was acting suspicious and refused to stand still when asked.
If he was a terrorist and they didn't open fire, you would one of the first to complain the police let him get away..
You can't have your cake and eat it.....
