Oh my....what is the world coming to! 40 lashes or a prison sentence for naming a teddy bear....listen to how ridiculous that sounds! Bring the poor girl home! These muslim people should think themselfs lucky that someone from Britian actually went to their country to teach their children. I think im still in shock after reading this article! At first i thought it was a joke.....seriously the muslims need to get a grip of reality and have a good look at its country! Its a name for goodness sake people!!! I think everyone should name a teddy bear mohamed, just to show this british teacher we'r behind her 100%. Peaceful religion, hahaha don't make me laugh.

There is an old saying that rings true to this very day!
"when in Rome do has the Romans do". This intelligent woman should have known that in Muslim counties you have to watch yours Ps and Qs because there are people who will use the tinniest provocation to cause trouble.
The sad thing about this case is that this woman was there has a teacher, someone to be respected!. to help educate the kids. Condemning her to 40 lashes and 6 months in jail is wrong in civilised society whether it be Muslim Christian Jewish or little green men believers.
This type of case is just another indication of the differences that are fuelling the miss trust and lack of understanding between religions.

She should have known have sensitive Muslims are about Mohammed but I can't help thinking that there were plenty of adult Muslims around her who could have pointed out the error, rather than calling the police.
Why anyone would want to go & work in Sudan is beyond me... maybe she is connected with a charity or was just trying to "do her bit" but she picked a horrible spot to do it.

Yet again the Muslim religion thinks it is ok to be violent and use the religion as an excuse to hide behind, maybe the teacher didn't think it out enough but it is hard to know if it is right or wrong when so many people are called Mohammed are their parents all put in prison for naming their child that? I don't think so!

Well its all political, somebody making a show. It will all be sorted out at Diplomatic level and she will be released fairly quickly.
The Sudanese have to be careful because otherwise they will end up with nobody going out there to help at all, but I suspect they are trying to ring something out of the British Government and then they will allow her to walk free or there are some local politics going on and somebody has to be seen to be the tough guy. The Teacher concerned was probably set up. I am surprised they get anybody going out to such countries, so if you go to these areas you have to take it on the chin.

It was the children that chose that name, not even the teacher, do Christians give 40 lashes to people who name their children Jesus? No. It's ridiculous, the British Government should step in there and bring her home without blame, this is religion gone mad.

What a sad country ..wonder if they would have been so incensed if it was called after JC ....seeing as Mohamed is such a common name in Muslim states whats the problem ..sure if its the prophet Mohamed he would be incensed by what is being done in his name ..sure the rest of Muslims would be saying for goodness sake stop this madness you are giving us bad name as intolerant people ..... which I'm sure they are not

Don't think she meant to offend anyone.
Just that the name is common and easy to recall.
Easy for children to remember.
Don't forget those were muslim kids.
What if she were to call it Mr. Bean.
The children will go home and tell the parent
That her teddy bear is a european?
What happen then?
Blunders and slip-ups with human errors with communication problems with misinterpretataion, miscommunication, communication failures and communication break-down.

She must have have been mental going there in the first place.
Anyone going to a Islamic warzone such as Somalia, has to be prepared for the worse, these type of people are not rational western thinking people.
My opinion is that as a educated woman, who freely chose to work there should take it on the chin.

I think it is absolutly outragous and an hysterical response to an innocent incident.
If we, as the UK, allow anything to happen to this poor woman I will be disgusted at ourselves. We should get her released and now.
