Should the President have the right to keep secret the images of body bags coming back to America? Is it possible that President Bush is doing to keep being able to keep recruitment of new soldiers possible. There has been a lot of controversy about the Patriot's Act, and the attendant loss of individual rights and privacy. What are your comments about this?

The H5N1 avian flu virus has killed 78% of the people infected during the past six months. We're being told to stockpile food, water, baby food, pet food, medicine, and cleaning supplies.

Also schools will close for 3 months during a severe pandemic.

Have you heard the warnings from the U.S. government?

She is being sent to jail for 45 days-without bail, etc. Do you think it was the right decision? Personally, I think the judge was being extremely arrogant and treated Paris harshly due to her celebrity nature. I think the judge was jealous of her lifestyle and wanted to make her suffer! And before you all go out and critisice me, I am in NO way a Paris fan...but I think everyone should be treated fairly. What do you all think?

It seems to me courts are starting to over do it. There should be like a huge protest asking to let it go. I'm all fo following the law but now days it seems that cops are on everyone's back while criminals do whatever they want.

Just wondering according to the doctrine of precedence, (which they have to follow the previous court decision where there was similar case happened before so if you do something and get jailed, I’ll be jailed as well if I do what you did), when are they going to arrest Stephen King, 50cent, Eminem, and maybe akon, or William Shakespeare if he is still alive?

Out of Ohio comes the story of a brave and heroic little 10-year-old boy who ran away from his demented parents and took his younger brother with him. They were found on a stranger's porch some distance away. The 10-year-old only weighed 61 lbs. There was no report on the younger brother. The older boy reported he was tired of being locked in a dog cage where he was forced to wear an electronic dog collar, which was used to shock him. His parents previously had a daughter who died mysteriously and child protective services say they are taking another look at that case. Isn't it a shame that they didn't take a better look the first time? You can read the whole story on the 5/05/07 edition of The Drudge Report.

Fellow Americans, I am a US Soldier currently serving in the Middle East. Please write your Republican Congressmen, tell them to bring us home! This war has become a lost cause. I am proud to serve my country. Read the news reports about the Bill the our President just vetoed, nearly all of them mention pressuring the Iraqi government to give us some of the oil. This war has been turned into some economic power struggle. I have no problem defending our nation. But this is not the defense of our nation. This is my second tour of duty here. I am tired, exhausted and want to come home to my family. I know many of you will scream and yell about this, if you really want us to stay out here, come here yourself. If this lost cause is defending freedom and our way of life. You do it, I am sorry to diappoint you, but I don't want to anymore.
I posted some answers to other questions regarding the situation in Iraq please read those as well before posting something about letting Iraq fall.

Iraq lawmakers' vacation plans draw fire

WASHINGTON - Lawmakers divided over whether to keep U.S. troops in Iraq are finding common ground on at least one topic: They are furious that Iraqi politicians are considering a lengthy break this summer.

"If they go off on vacation for two months while our troops fight — that would be the outrage of outrages," said Rep. Chris Shays, R-Conn.

The Iraq parliament's recess, starting this July, would likely come without Baghdad politicians reaching agreements considered key to easing sectarian tensions. Examples include regulating distribution of the country's oil wealth and reversing measures that have excluded many Sunnis from jobs and government positions because of Baath party membership.

Iraqi politicians said Thursday the break might not happen or may be less than two months, but said it should be of no concern to U.S. lawmakers.

Talk of the adjournment in Iraq comes amid a heated debate in Congress on the pullout of U.S. troops in Iraq.

President Bush this week vetoed $124.2 billion legislation ordering troops to begin leaving Oct. 1. Failing on Wednesday to gain a two-thirds majority needed to override the veto, Democrats were expected to begin negotiations Thursday with top White House aides on the next step.

Don't blame the arabs. American oil companies buy oil and gas at wholesale cost from them and then gouge us at the pump. If they sold it at a reasonable cost, gas in America would average about $1.50 per gallon and they would still be making a good profit on that.

May 3 - The House of Representatives voted on Thursday to extend hate-crime protection to people who are victimized because of their sexuality. But the most immediate effect may be to set up another veto showdown between Democrats and President Bush.

May 3 - President Bush told Congressional leaders Thursday that he would veto any legislation that weakened federal policies or laws on abortion.

May 1 — President Bush vetoed a $124 billion war spending bill on Tuesday, setting up a second round in his long battle with Congressional Democrats who are determined to use the financing measure to force the White House to shift course in Iraq.

Is the "veto button" a large and colorful button that makes fun noises when Pres. Bush pushes it? Does it make confetti & balloons fall from the ceiling of the oval office?
