As an Ex Soldier, I want to know why should images of soldiers coming home be made public? show some damn respect. Also they do not come home in "body bags" but proper coffins.
The Military has a right to keep damn media out of something which should be kept DIGNIFIED, these fallen heroes do not need to be splashed all over media.
You do not need to see it, when its reported everyday a running score by the liberal media. So no I do not see why the public has to see everything.

How is not showing images of body bags returning from Iraq keeping anything secret? The media practically has a running tally in the news every day of the soldiers dying in the war. There has been a long standing government policy going back many presidents of not showing the bodies returning from a conflict. This is nothing new. It's just trying to show respect.

I looked up the Patriots Act, and I couldnt discover where the keeping images of our dead soldiers coming back home in body bags and the act, has any links between the two. I agree with you however that it isnt right that the public not be allowed to see things which are happening, either here or abroad. I do know one thing though.
Its not right that these boys return up dead fighting a war which is not gaining anything. I say
President Bush, stop this war and bring our boys home, ALIVE!
Thank you

Body bags? Clearly you are using that term to get some sort of negative emotional response from those who read it. FYI, they have not used "body bags" for years.
Now, as to the issue of pictures.
The MILITARY does not allow pictures of the flag draped coffins out of respect for THEIR fallen comrades. Once their comrade in his coffin is turned over to the family, the family can allow pictures.
But guess what, the families also do not want pictures taken.
I think it is a case of the rights of the fallen and their families take priority over the Liberals desire to push their agenda based upon the pictures.
But since when has a liberal cared about the rights of the individual when they have an agenda?

Imagine 1000s of body bags being shown by the media. Now imagine the reaction of the public which is told that the war is going ok. Not very good for official propaganda huh?
Current US casualties:
Over 3100 dead.
Over 15.000 injured.
And these are just the official accounts.

No. The President has the right to make military information secret only when it has a national security purpose, not when he is doing so for his own political benefit.
