I've come upon both of these terms in my research for a term paper, and was just wondering if there is a difference between the two wars of it's one and the same!

We gotta do SOMETHING, people, no matter WHAT the naysayers snivel about it!
Do not pump gas on May 15th! Let's hit 'em where they hurt the worst! In the cash register! Maybe THIS will get their attention! ! ! !
In April 1997, there was a 'gas out' conducted nationwide in protest of obscene gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight. On May 15th 2007, try not to go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices.
Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
The average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up! !
If everybody did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys' pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) forward this ? with "Don't pump gas on May 15th! !"

France has been in a malaise for a while, rather like Britain in the late 70s and early 80s. They have elected a hard-line leader (rather like Britain electing Thatcher) to hopefully remedy their problems.

But what do you think will happen in the country over the next decade?

I forsee some bust then boom, and France's position in the world will also strengthen. However, I also predict that there will be repression and rebellion.

Gas here is already $3.25 a gallon. What happens when it reaches 5 or 6 bucks a gallon? Then will the president and/or congress do anything about it? People cannot afford these kinds of prices!

Both the Democrats and the Bush Adm. intend to maintain troops in Iraq indefinitely.. You don't gain title to your neighbors house just because you blew it up. We definitely broke Iraq, but that only gives us the burden of sin. It does not entitle us to the Country. We need to get out of Iraq now. This folly has already cost us 3300 American lives, $500 Billion in tax money, 30.000 thousand wounded and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Some Military people are saying we would have to stay there another 10 years... Your thoughts ??

Penguin ended up in Peru, 3K miles away from home. His cousins will not accept him and the climate is not appropriate. He is being treated for a bleeding wing and will be transported back home.

Any idea how this fella ended up so far away from home?

It seems to me like there's an anomaly between the preciousness of life when it comes to fetuses, compared with our precious soldiers fighting in Iraq. Aren't their lives at LEAST as dear, if not more so?

I'd buy the argument if it were that our wonderful soldiers were saving lives by defending the US from attack, but I don't recall hearing that the US was attacked by Iraq. And this "freedom" and "liberty" argument is just a bunch of hogwash. (Don't get me wrong; I think that freedom and liberty are fundamental ideals of this country. I just don't think that the loss of these ideals were what put us in Iraq in the first place.)

From what I understand of the Republican/right-wing value system, saving unwanted fetuses is penultimate, but saving the lives of our heroic soldiers is, well, apparently not so important.

So what am I missing?

No Im not perfect, however I can PROMISE everyone out there I would never have left my son alone in that situation. You NEVER go off and leave 3 children who arent even school age to fend for themselves for hours on end.

What if one of them had an accident. Had a problem. I suppose the kids could scream over a couple of hundred yards to get their parents attention, but it would be easier if they were in the same room.

Also we are all assuming that some pedo gang has gone in and snatched her (and conveniently left 2 twins behind .... guess they can only snatch one at a time huh?) ...... yet no-one saw a thing. Not from a ground floor flat around 9:30 at night when there would have been people walking about. Anyone consider the possibility that she wasnt taken by a pedo gang at all?

What annoys me most is people shout me down as though their opinions should overall mine. Im sorry, I believe the Mccann's were reckless in the extreme! If you dont like that - tough!

them just like in philipeens ww2 cuba everywhere else we help people if george w bush would have been presient during ww2 we would have saved the Jewish people from the holocaust.
democrats are evil they want to lealize murder abortion
they want to have an open door prison system, so we will reward people who break the law. they want to get rid of the death penalty, there is a difference between murder and killing, people should realize they defend terrorists and attack Christians and Jews.

Do you really think it is constructive behaviour to continue criticising and dragging down her parents?

In a way, i can see why they may have decided to take this risk: Have we heard of any child abduction case's in portugal in recent years? The Alrgarve is viewed by many as a relatively safe place to be, and many children play in the streets on their own and come to no harm. The parents of maddy must have thought they could just about get away with leaving them on their own. The restaurant isnt millions of miles away, and i suppose they thought to themselves- what could possibly happen, they are in bed.

Again, im not supporting it, im just trying to see things from their perspective. At the end of the day, the risk backfired, but i really dont see what good it will do for people to continue torturing them and pushing their faces into the dirt. We need to focus on getting maddy back now and offering all our support to Kate and Gerry McCann.

Thanyou.
