Do not pump gas on May 15th!
Let's hit 'em where they hurt the worst! In the cash register! Maybe THIS will get their attention! ! ! !
In April 1997, there was a 'gas out' conducted nationwide in protest of obscene gas prices.
Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, try not to go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices.
Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

The average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up! !

If everybody did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys' pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) forward this ? with "Don't pump gas on May 15th! !"

STOP THE GAS PRICE MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if one day will do any good as it has not in the past. Even if I don't get gas on Wednesday (which I usually only gas up on Saturdays anyway), I don't think it will do anything to help the situation as people will still need gas the day after and buy more the days after to make up for the gas they did not replace on Wednesday, May 15th. I think this move only hurts the participants of the protest. I also think the people behind the gas price increases are behind this protest to get gas purchases to fall for one day and then rebound the next day making gas sales look good on paper.
That's just my personal opinion, though.

There was a news report stating the reason gas is so high is because of the growing demand; however, that is a load of garbage since China has the largest growing demand and the prices are only around $2.25 per gallon.

How I am going to try to be apart of the solution:

I do live in an area where there is no public trasnsportation and am moving to an area in a larger city nearby where it is available next month. I might start taking the public transportation to avoid buy gas so often.

This whole thing is a hoax which will not do nothing to affect prices. In order to do some real damage you'd have to reduce the amount of fuel being bought. If people fill up on the 14th or 16th. the same amount of gas would be bought just on different days. so whether the big oil far-cats get their moneythe day before or the day after they will get their money and not be inclined to reduce prices
The only way this would work is if it were conducted over a long period of time, which won't happen b/c the American public isn't willing to hinder themselves to this extent to do this.

What you suggest would just be a waste of time. If they don't make any money on the gas they'll just add a few bucks to whatever else you buy.
