France has been in a malaise for a while, rather like Britain in the late 70s and early 80s. They have elected a hard-line leader (rather like Britain electing Thatcher) to hopefully remedy their problems.

But what do you think will happen in the country over the next decade?

I forsee some bust then boom, and France's position in the world will also strengthen. However, I also predict that there will be repression and rebellion.

These sound like very reasonable predictions; I just hope that violence and suffering are kept under control.
