Hi,

I would like to buy a new shower unit. A non-digital one that can run off a combi boiler.

We settled on a Grohe shower for £250 (I think Grohtherm 1000 concealed) but have now been given an Aqualisa Quartz Thermo (model QZ3111) instead as the other one was not in stock. The shop can get it for us in a couple of days.

I am not sure which is a better shower. Would anyone have any knowledge? Any helps from plumbers or people with experience of these would be great...

Thanks,
Anna

I use a humidifier constantly during the winter months, and the tap water we have around here is awful, scaling up the filter. I had the bright idea of saving the water that was created by our dehumidifer this summer in the humidifier over the winter; free and clean. However, I'm worried about things growing in it during the 3 months or so before I start to use it. Would it be safe to put a little bleach in it, or would the small amount I use (2 tsps per gallon) be harmful to breathe?

We love the "smell" of coffee beans so we put some out in a glass bowl on our kitchen counter. Why are bugs, out in large force this time of year, not attracted to them?

I have a volunteer squash in my front yard. It vines out unlike a regular squash plant but, leave no doubt, it is a squash. The young squash look like baby watermelons. I have absolutely no idea how it got there but will be glad to accept this volunteer for whatever it is worth. Any help?

Today I discovered that in my trash bin outside there are a bunch of maggots. I am so mortified and I want to know are they actual bugs or are they evolved from bacteria and germs. I went to some websites about them and many had mentioned they are fly larvae. I just want to know is it my trash and the hot weather (Im in the south) that caused this or flies? What I REALLY need to know is how do I kill them all (my trash bin is fairly large, its about 4 feet tall, the kind the city provides) and I am also so worried about spreading germs or maggots or anything like that?!?!!?!? Please tell me how to get rid of these nasty *** things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My house doesn't get much light. Any ideas for some tall, indoor plants? I love the look of butterfly palm, but would that work in a space that doesn't get much natural night? Any other ideas?

I have lived in my apartmnent for 27 years, and I always had a few cockroaches, but in the past two years, I started getting water bugs occasionally. This summer they are getting crazy! I kill one or more a day. What reasons could there be for their increase? Will boric acid kill them the way it kills cockroaches?

I have cats, so I am very careful with the boric acid but am too worried to use professional exterminators...

Do I have any options???

THEY ARE SO FREAKING GROSS!!!

Does anybody know what charities in the Philadelphia area accept furniture donations? I'm looking for a charity that would be able to pick up the furniture. Tax-deductible is a plus, as is a charity that would be able to pick up the furniture w/ relatively short notice.

Thanks so much to anybody w/ info!
