My hot-water-bottle leaked in my bed last week. The rubber seems to have perished.
I've still got it because I don't like to waste anything if I can avoid it. Does anyone know if local authorities here in the UK have any recycling facilities for rubber.
If not, what do you all do with your old hot-water-bottles?
Anyone got an imaginative idea for an alternative use?

On the back of energy saving light bulb boxes it always says that they can't be used with dimmers switches, PIR or timer switches, why?

Surely it would make more sense to use a timer at home with a lamp that is better for the environment!!

I am looking to buy some remote lake front property. I am debating between a grain/pellet burning stove, or a submerged geothermal setup that feeds right into the lake. Any opinions either way are much appreciated.

I live in a detatched house next to some land which a property developer is going to build a very large number of flats on. They have approached me to ask if they can buy my house as well as they say it will enhance their scheme greatly. What shall I do, do you sell for the straight price of the property or can you name your price?

These miniatures have a brass plaque on the back celebrating Granadas 35 years of Coronation Street, it also states who lived in these houses and the number of each house. There is also the Corner Shop. I would like to know where these were made and if they are collectable.

I have bought a dehumidifer for my house. The bedroom windows are all soaking wet in the mornings. Do I leave it on all the time or just at night or just during the day? It has an automatic cut out and cuts off when there is no moisture, then just goes back on again when there is.
How much does it cost to run?

Our house is currently covered in carpet. We have a dog who sheds and has occasional accidents in the carpet. I'm debating whether or not to switch to hardwood floors. I would like to to the floating because of cost. Does anyone have advice? Should I stick it out with carpet? Is wood that much easier?
