Ceramic. They can scratch wood and linoleoum, destory carpet and stain concrete. Ceramic is indestructable. Do it!

I believe theres no better place than outside for a dog. Grass is the best flooring for the dogs.

Stay away from wood..it is very slippery for dogs to get a grip on and is the most common kind of flooring to cause injury to dogs.

Tiles. But, I live for playing with small fluffy dogs on polished wood floors! They way they dash around and slip and slide across wood floors makes me laugh so hard. I love squooshing a broom down on them and whipping them around like mops. The dogs like that, too. I was a nurse who visited patients in their homes, and, wood floors and small fluffy dogs was a big treat for me to get to play with.

Pergo laminated wood floors. Always beautiful, easy clean up, hair doesn't sink down in like with carpet and urine won't discolor it as with vynyl.
I have seen my dog slide clear across a tiled floor and smack into the wall on the other side of the room. Kind of slick stuff there.

ANYTHING but carpet!!! AAAGGGGHHHH. If I knew then, what I know now.....If you can afford tile, I would go with that. Even though it is poreus, you can steam clean it whereas wood or linoleum, you really can't get it out without further damage.
