I have bought a dehumidifer for my house. The bedroom windows are all soaking wet in the mornings. Do I leave it on all the time or just at night or just during the day? It has an automatic cut out and cuts off when there is no moisture, then just goes back on again when there is.
How much does it cost to run?

if it cuts out when your air is dry then leave it on, just make sure to check the water container regularly. After using for a few months over the winter you can switch it off. No point in running it once windows are opened regularly!

We used to run our from early morning for a few hours though our problem room was just the bathroom so I'd imagine you'd need to run much longer if you have condensation all over the house. It's worth having on a timer to go off in the early hours as your heating comes on and the condensation forms.

Are you in the southern hemisphere? The people I know use a humidifier through the heating season.
