A few years ago I had a BAD mouse infestation. After they were all gone I forgot I left some glue traps out. This week I started smelling the decomposing mouse smell and after digging found a dead mouse stuck to a glue trap under my dresser. My question is, about how long after a mouse dies does it take before you start to smell it decomposing? Could this mouse have died last year or the year before -or- does this mean I have mice again? (augh)

I have noticed that the vinyl flooring in my kitchen has yellowed some under throw rugs I have in there. Why did it do this and, more importantly, is there any way to remove the yellowing?

Mom bought me a new stove for Christmas, out of the blue. So let's just say not a lot of advanced planning went into this. So they dropped of the new stove and the delivery guys took one look at the stove and knew that it would be hard wired in. They moved it and it was.

Now ignoring the fact that I am dumb, and even if there had been an outlet it would probably have been the wrong kind anyway.

Is there any reason they hard wired stoves rather than using plugs?

and living in a nice house in a good area, but you know that if anything were to go wrong you would not make the payments. Any solutions? The cost of houses is ridiculous these days, it's hard enough getting a house in any area let alone a nice one.

Okay I have different cycles....

Sleeping = XX degrees
Wake = XX degrees
At work = XX degrees
Home from work = XX degrees

I have those 4 settings set for various times throughout the day, but what's the most efficient way for me to set the temps?

I had it at 70 degrees when I'm home and 62 degrees when I'm asleep or not home. My gas bill was still through the roof. A buddy of mine told me to not make such a drastic change in temps... Anyone have any really successful settings?

Thanks!

Can I walk on the floor without falling through/disturbing the insulations? Also, I need to look for something that may be right on the wood and under the fiberglass. (or whatever that fluffy stuff is that looks like finely crumbled dryer lint). Is there any way that a live electric wire could be concealed by insulation? How do I dig around safely in all of that fluff without disturbing anything important?

Every time I walk past this house, it smells strongly of acetone. I noticed it this summer, when we first moved to the area, and I still smell it now that it's winter. I was alarmed to read that sometimes meth labs will smell of acetone. Could this be the case?
