It's a Kenmore with freezer in the bottom, fairly new. I've tried adjusting the front right tilt screw with no success. Sometimes I can push on the side or open the door and it lessens, other times not. The noise is off when the compressor stops but sounds like it's from the sides. It gets loud and annoying. Thanks for any help.

We live in a 3-bedroom, 1 bath home. The garage was converted to create the 3rd bedroom. There is currently a concrete driveway graded to an incline, but it has an odd bump in it that makes parking on it nearly impossible for most cars.

If we had the driveway repaved to a flat surface, would this increase our home's value?

i'm wanting to get a garbage disposal installed in my mother's kichen. they have a problem with their sub-pump that when it goes off the kitchen sink periodically fills with water. if a disposal was installed would the food clog the piping and cause more of an overflow problem? or would it effect it at all?

I have had to renew several fuel lines, and now have a non working (old) mower. Is it possibly due to using ethanol containing gasoline?

when there was construction on my street, they had to turn off the water connection. ever since then, i lost pressure for my 2nd floor and basement. there seems to be very high pressure for the first floor and basement. also, my hot water is very very hot (and the water tank temp knob is fine at the warm temp) and it's taking a lot of cold water, almost turned on all the way and the hot water on just a little tweak open. what's wrong here?!?!?!

I have tried J.B. stik and it leaks after about 36 hours. The crack is all the way through and is about 4 inches long. It sits at the very bottom of the tank so it has to withhold all of the pressure. Sears wants $51 for a new tank, just can't see spending that on a piece of plastic.

I'm fitting a security light to my exterior wall, and need to add another socket 'gang' to power its internal switch.

I CAN'T convert the existing nearby single socket to a double due to lack of space at its location, so need to take a spur from it. (I've tested and confirmed that this single socket is on the ring-main.)

I have a two-year-old Wylex fuse box with 30mA RCD-protection on all the mains sockets.
Would there be any safety advantage at all if I got an RCD socket or RCD fused spur unit for this outlet? These cost several times more than a basic fused spur unit. The only advantage I can think of is if the RCD on the spur had a faster trip time (don't know what it is on the fuse box).

I intend to use a 3A fuse in the spur unit, as it is only to power the light.

(Please do not advise me to get an electrician out - I have successfully done plenty of sockets / light switches before - my question here is about whether I should use an RCD FCU, or a normal FCU)

I use the products available at the store at least twice a year sometimes more. The ones that say 9 months effectiveness etc. The pests I find inside are dead or close to it except for spiders, but I'd like to find none at all. Would a professional really be worth it considering all the chemical restrictions on them? How often would they have to treat the area? My main problems are spiders, inside and out, crickets, and occasionally cockroaches inside, the big black ones, which I have been told are outside pests coming in. I also use diazanon and dursban on the yard but for the three years I've been here, I keep seeing bugs (however mostly dead).. HELP!!

The is a large crack in the wall which goes from the top to the bottom of an internal wall which seperates two rooms. When the walls were decorated the wall paper was moved and also the wall is bulging were the crack is. It appears that there has been another crack on this wall but last time was plastered over. The rooms below has also been knocked through prob over 20 years ago and were the wall downstairs once was is were we are having the problems above.

Should we be concerened and call out a builder before decorating or just plaster over?

The title might seem weird but it is true. I have shower curtain and shower liner in my bathroom (shower/tub combo). Whenever anyone takes a shower the liner blows into the tub and sticks to the person. It literally comes halfway in. You find yourself moving closer to the wall to get away from it. There is nothing in our bathroom that would be causing a breeze. No windows, door is shut and no fan. We have tried EVERYTHING to fix this. We've tried having the door open, different liners, taking the curtain off and just having the liner up and even tried liners with magnets on the bottom. Nothing helps. The one with the magnets didn't even stick at all. I know it seems like a dumb thing to be aggravated about but it really is day after day.

If anyone has any advice on how to fix this I would very much appreciate it. If you have had this problem and found a liner with strong magnets or heavy weights on the bottom then could you please give me the name or link.

Thanks so much!
-Brit

Currently have a very old 3-ton a/c. Which seems to work ok on those occasions where the temp gets above 90-100 in Southern Cal. I'm being encouraged by a/c reps to go for the 4-ton which would require additional $$ for electrical work.

What do you use to seal up the hole in the OUTSIDE wall where the cable TV and telephone wires and electrical wires all go thru? I want to replace my telephone wire coming in to the house, because I have DSL and it is really slow. I figured it couldn't hurt to replace the 45 year old wire coming in! :D I'm gonna use the best wire I can find (ANY SUGGESTIONS on what kinda wire to get? :D) to go from the telephone box outside to the DSL jack, but I need to no what to use to seal up the outside hole, when I rip out whatever is plugging it up now! :D

Thanks! ~Cindy! :D

Hi guys, my mom and I just purchased a new house together, and i moved in a few days earlier before she did. One night I was just relaxing in my bedroom, I heard this music tone (i hummed the tune to my coworkers and they said its Beethoven), and I thought it was the doorbell, so I went to the door and found no one there. I then realized that I had never heard my own door bell before, so I pressed on it, and heard "ding dong".

I thought maybe it was from the neighbors. But later when my mom moved in, we heard the sound again. Now, we have heard it numerous times and it seems to occur at random hours. I found the speaker that the tune comes from: an ATW MS-32. I called the builder, electrician, and security of the house. None of them know what's going on and where that speaker is wired to.

I don't think the sound is from the fire detector, because it sounds way too peaceful..does anyone know what this might be? Any help would be greatly apprecriated! Thanks!

I just moved to Florida and the Culligan guys are hounding me to get a water softener. Does it really make a difference? I've heard of the savings in soap, easier cleaning, etc but I don't know if it makes that much of a true difference.
