I have had to renew several fuel lines, and now have a non working (old) mower. Is it possibly due to using ethanol containing gasoline?

Yes. Try not to use it. Soon we will all be forced to use it by the environmental kooks who are in bed with Archer Daniels Midland.

The engine (including the lines) are not compatable with E10 fuel. You may have already burnt it up. E10 contains alcohol and burns at a higher temp. Even auto's need to have a dual-fuel engine to use E10.
