I use the products available at the store at least twice a year sometimes more. The ones that say 9 months effectiveness etc. The pests I find inside are dead or close to it except for spiders, but I'd like to find none at all. Would a professional really be worth it considering all the chemical restrictions on them? How often would they have to treat the area? My main problems are spiders, inside and out, crickets, and occasionally cockroaches inside, the big black ones, which I have been told are outside pests coming in. I also use diazanon and dursban on the yard but for the three years I've been here, I keep seeing bugs (however mostly dead).. HELP!!

An exterminator is going to come in on a graduated basis, about the time that the insects are breeding, then he'll keep them in check this way. Unless your very good in entomology and know when insects breed and, do their thing, then call in an exterminator, they're not that expensive.

While I use an exterminator because I have a major ant issue, I would suggest you go down to your local nursery supply store (NOT a big chain store, they will just tell you to keep using the same products) A smaller nursery can be a surprisingly good source of info on most topics for dealing with pests around the house. (They should also be able to help you solve your problem without having to spray ever stronger chemicals around your house.) I had a problem with birds getting to my fruit trees before I could. The woman at the local nursery suggested vinegar in a spray bottle. Not perfect, but much better than before. Good Luck

Spray cheap vegetable oil on the outside base of your home in spring & fall plus after heavy rain. This is a deterrant having crawlies come inside and it is environmently safe. I use bug spray behind heavy furniture, under sinks near water pipes and drains twice a year for a deterrant also. As for cockroaches, the only thing I found to eliminate them was a Bengel Gold Roach spray. http://www.bengel.com/order

Only bug problem I have not solved is the carpenter ants that got into my walls.

Take a protracted walk off a short cliff you mendacity rat. yet that became a reasonably solid shaggy dog tale. did not make me chortle in spite of the fact that it became unique.
