The title might seem weird but it is true. I have shower curtain and shower liner in my bathroom (shower/tub combo). Whenever anyone takes a shower the liner blows into the tub and sticks to the person. It literally comes halfway in. You find yourself moving closer to the wall to get away from it. There is nothing in our bathroom that would be causing a breeze. No windows, door is shut and no fan. We have tried EVERYTHING to fix this. We've tried having the door open, different liners, taking the curtain off and just having the liner up and even tried liners with magnets on the bottom. Nothing helps. The one with the magnets didn't even stick at all. I know it seems like a dumb thing to be aggravated about but it really is day after day.

If anyone has any advice on how to fix this I would very much appreciate it. If you have had this problem and found a liner with strong magnets or heavy weights on the bottom then could you please give me the name or link.

Thanks so much!

Sliding doors are not an option. We live an apartment and can't make any changes.

What is happening is that the flow of the spray from the shower head is causing air to be drawn in from outside the shower. So the air is pushing in on the curtain.

I hate shower curtains for that very reason. And, I would think the only thing you could do is to get a bowed shower curtain rod.

Or maybe get suction cup hooks that stick to the tub and hold the curtain against the side of the tub. Of course that would be a pain to have to hook and unhook the bottom of the curtain every time you shower. But, it's an idea.

The bowed curtain rod will help to give you more room. I also put a suction cup clip in the middle of the tub side and clipped the curtain to it. I was still able to unclip it for using the tub but since I usually just shower, I leave it clipped most of the time. Since it's in the middle of the tub, the curtain opens from either side.

It is the down-draft caused by the falling water that causes the very lightweight liner to be "sucked" into the shower.

Magnets only work for cast iron tubs. Most newer tubs are fiberglass.

I just gave up and got rid of the liner, just used the heavier plastic curtains before I was able to install glass doors.

You can fold up the bottom of the liner a couple of inches. Put glue along the top of the folded piece. This will make a hem of sorts. Then you can place your own magnets in that hem, then glue the ends shut. A friend of mine did this with rocks, but I like your idea of using magnets! My friend used a glue gun and it seems to have held up well against the water.

You can buy liners anywhere they are sold that have magnets to hold it against the tub. You can also try attaching fishing sinkers about every six inches apart to the hem.

I had this problem once, dont pull the curtain all the way to the far wall, leave about 10 inch gap so air can flow and your curtain will stay down, it worked for me.

They have curtain rods that are bowed for more room in the shower. I had to change to them too. You can find them at walmart , Target, and Bed Bath and Beyond. ...Like a ghost trying to attack you . I know what you are going through. It's funny. Hope it helps..
