This happened today. I noticed there was some light green tinge on the shower wall and floor. I thought my hubby had used too much cleanser, so I tried rinsing it, but it did not come off.
After I did the white laundry, I noticed some of it had the same light green tinge on it.
Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to remedy the situation?
We have lived in this house for five years and bought it newly built.

I have a 1920's house and the main thick electric lead which runs inside the house then onto a little black box (not sure about technical names) then that wires onto main fuse box! The main wire has alot of grey tape around it and ive noticed that where it conects to the little black box there is what looks to be rusty sticky liquid coming down the wire! Does anyone know why this is happening and what is it?

What is involved in relocating a cold air return? I wish to place it in the ceiling above my pellet stove so I can circulate the warm air.

I just moved to Massachusetts from California. The cold air from outside is coming in through the windows (even though they are closed). How do I fix this? I am not all that handy, and am kinda scared of power tools, so anything that does not require those is much appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help...best answer gets the 10 points and major kudos from me (lol)

We have a wood pecker that comes every day to the same spot on the side of our house and has pecked a significant hole. The house is siding with a few wood trim boarding. No where else, just the one spot. What can we do besides covering only the wood with metal flashing. Chemicals? Deterant? trap?

It is approx 8 years old. I've got no manual on it, it was here when we moved in.

When we push the button to start a wash cycle, you "hear" regular dish washer noise but you don't hear the usual sound of high pressure water splashing around. I've tried ALL different buttons and same results. I stopped it at mid cycle to peek
at the water level and see if the top rack "test dishes" were hot and wet but no just hot. There was a very shallow pool of water at the bottom.

I've checked for clogs in the holes on all the spray arms but they all look clear.

Now what? I just HATE to call in a repairman now, I'm unemployed and things are bad enough already.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I have been charged with the duty of figuring out how much it will cost to have the roof on our condo repaired/replaced when this 4-year old one wears out. Does anyone have a rough estimate per sq. ft. for this job? Our roof is flat and has a silvery surface. There are no pebbles or shingles involved in it. I live in Chicago (if that makes any difference.)

The toilet upstairs overflowed and leaked through the floor, flooding the basement. Thankfully we only have a small runner rug, and the floor is concrete, but the smell won't leave. I live down here and have to do something about it.

This summer we built a wood fence, using concrete at the base of our 4X4 pine beams. During the ensuing months, a few of the 4x4's have gotten long diagonal cracks in the them, some running in a jagged pattern from nearly top to bottom, mostly on one side of the beam. Should this concern us? Will the cracks keep going straight thru the 4X4's until they split in two?

AC is too expensive to leaving running all the time, and as a result, my windows are always open to allow air flow through my house. How can I prevent household items (pots, pans, anything that can rust) from rusting?
