It is approx 8 years old. I've got no manual on it, it was here when we moved in.

When we push the button to start a wash cycle, you "hear" regular dish washer noise but you don't hear the usual sound of high pressure water splashing around. I've tried ALL different buttons and same results. I stopped it at mid cycle to peek
at the water level and see if the top rack "test dishes" were hot and wet but no just hot. There was a very shallow pool of water at the bottom.

I've checked for clogs in the holes on all the spray arms but they all look clear.

Now what? I just HATE to call in a repairman now, I'm unemployed and things are bad enough already.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

TC you are a hero! Many thanks. Tell me, is there a possible connection between the kitchen faucet trouble (since 2 months ago)and the dishwasher problems that quickly followed? My faucet started leaking in the off position, then my son turned off the cold water side and now no leaks. But now the D/W doesn't work?
OMG, is this Why???

Doesn't sound good! First though, check under the sink, if you see the water line running to the washer, you will see a shutoff valve, make sure it is on. The next thing that will keep water from going into the washer is the valve on the machine. It could be bad. Shut the water off, remove the hose at the machine, and turn the water on enough to be sure it is getting to the washer. Replace the valve. Oh come on! Sure it's hard, but not impossible. unfasten it and pull it to the middle of the room, and turn it on it's face, you will see the valve. You don't have anything else to do, right? Well, if you just don't want to, get a book from the library that will show you how to wash dishes by hand.

The pump you're listening to is the drain pump. eliminate the plinf panel on the backside front of the gadget if there is water interior the backside - your gadget has a inner leak which activates the anti flooding gadget which will turn on the drain pump and could no longer enable water to pass into the gadget. confirm the water inlet hose isn't pinched close and that the water grant is grew to become on. In uncommon cases the solenoid water inlet valve could be defective you are able to attempt this with a multimeter.
