My young one left the gas tanks for the riding lawn mower sitting outside in pouring rain for several days - what are the chances that water has gotten into the canisters, and if so - how do I get it safely out? I vaguely recall having had water years ago in my push lawnmower - and a neighbor put some rubbing alcohol??? in it that seemed to cure the problem, but am not sure. Any suggestions anybody?

As an alternative - if I want to get rid of the possible watered down gas [new riding lawn mower - I am not taking my chances with it] where do I go to, to safely dispose the gas off? I can't just dump it - we are talking about nearly 6 gallons - it will damage all growing things and we have pets too, and obviously I can't put it in the trashcan... Will the gas stations accept it back, or where do I need to go? How do I make sure afterwards that there is no water remaining in the tanks before using them again?

Thanks! S.

I want to extend my patio slab. Should I pour a new adjoining slab? If I continue the same slope as the original slab, it may be too low w.r.t. the yard. This would also result in an obvious seam between the too different slabs. Should I overpour the original slab when doing the new one to raise the whole thing and make one surface? Would this be more liable to crack? Is there anything wrong with overpouring concrete?

Our AC handler and drain pan is in the attic. It keeps filling up with water. I drain it, put in some clorox, it stayed dry for a while, then it started up again after a week or so. I finally put down a whole bunch of clorox and what looked like hard water deposits came out. It stayed dry for a while but then it wasn't cooling well. I called a repair man, he added some freon, it worked for a while. Now it is full of water again. What gives?

I heard quite a pop about an hour ago in a lightning storm. That may be unrelated. Nevertheless, my sink is suddenly not draining. I poured some water down in and dingy water came right up. My disposal also didn't work. I (stupidly) put my hand down there once the disposal switch was off and felt only flat surfaces. Strangely, I couldn't feel any obvious place for the water to flow through. (The disposal blades are sealing the drain shut?) I checked the breakers and they seemed normal. I pressed the reset button. I don't hear a peep from the disposal and the disgusting water is receding very slowly. Do I have a problem with my switch, my disposal, my drain, a fuse? I'd appreciate your wisdom! Thanks.

Yesterday I had my new Kenmore refrigerator delivered. The freezer is finally cold - but not as cold as it should be. The refrigerator never did cool down. I called sears and they wanted to send a repair person in 2 weeks. I declined. I am supposed to have a brand new one delivered now in 2 days but now I'm thinking I should just return it and buy elsewhere. Suggestions?

Our neighbor has one. He fills it up at the beginning of summer. Then lets it go to brown water till late summer, cleans it one more time, then sits there dirty till next summer. How are these types of pools supposed to be dealt with? It's creating a mosquito heaven. There nice people, just hillbillies. It's probably 3-1/2 ft. deep X 20 ft. wide.

I am having problems with the Air conditioning unit in the house that we just bought. Every two weeks, we have to replace the air filter. This is due to it being clogged with dust and dirt. The problem is that it is costly and that there is such a suction in the return that it is unreal. The other thing is that the unit is NOT cooling the house. It runs all day long and never get under 80 until 10:00 p.m. The Home Warranty people say that there is nothing wrong. I disagree. What do we need to do to get the Home Warranty people to fix the problem? Or is there something that I can do to help it myself??? PLEASE HELP!

We just bought a new couch, at a nice discount because it had some "mystery stains" on it. I'm fairly certain it's glue, and I want to try to get it off without hurting the finish of the leather. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
