In the health section of grocery stores there is a large selection of hempseed suppliments, hemp waffles, and everything like that. There are bracelets and necklaces made from hemp.

How is all of this produced if hemp comes from the marijuana plant, which is illegal to grow, sell or own? Are there special hemp plants that lack the hallucinagenic ingredient found in regular marijuana, or is there just permits to grow it and highly regulated security protocol where you need huge fences and the FBI comes to check on you on a weekly basis?

In my last job I had a great desk near a westerly facing window so most plants survived. In my new job I'm nowhere near any windows so the only light a plant will get will be from the fluorescent bulbs.

Ideally I'd like a nice, smallish plant, that will grow and need some pruning now and again. Also if it could grow something (fruit, herbs, flower, berries, etc) that would be great.

Any ideas?

My sister called me sobbing a few days ago and told me that the city (with no word or community meeting to discuss the matter) cut down our city's oldest trees (7 in all) they were huge Sycamores , perfectly beautiful and healthy that are 100 years+ old My great-grandparents witnessed these trees being planted years ago, and they were loved by all. Their reason for this is Too many Crows were roosting in the trees and pooping on the sidewalk below!!!! there are many ways to humanely erradicate Crows, which are a problem, but have always been. They also had the money to get rid of the trees but never used it to properly prune them yearly to keep them from growing too tall(crowes like to roost on tall trees) The leaves could have been raked by volunteers which I would have gladly helped out, I think it is just bone lazy that they chose this as their solution, it is too late to save them now, but I want to get input on what could have been done in case they get ideas to Execute more

Me and my dad have had an allotment for just over a year now. We do not know much about gardening, except basics. Last year was a bit of disaster with very little crop- carrots got carrot fly, potatoes got blight, slugs ate the rest! I realise now that we dug too much. The soil is quite light and dries out quick. At the moment we are only really knowledgeable enough to do a simple spring mass-planting, because I get very confused when it comes to inter cropping, and all the different things that some gardeners have going on all at once. I have worked out a ground plan for our plot which includes carrots, parsnips, peas and beans (runner and broad), potatoes, cabbages, brocolli, sweet corn and squashes. I am planning on trying out crimson clover as an attractive green mulch.
At present th plot is covered in a good layer of horse manure which I haven't dug in. I am planning to rake it in a bit come planting time. I'd be grateful if people could advise on fertilisers for the veg I want?

Does anyone know the name of the plant that looks very similar to a Poinsettia but the blooms are much smaller? It almost looks like the plant but with mini flowers on it.

I think I remember someone saying 10 feet apart for this tree. How quickly and nicely will this form a tall screen?

Also, any other trees that would work good for this, which are evergreen?

Thanks for your answers!

I'm looking for a plant to keep in my bedroom. Even though I like the smell of basil I don't think I'd like to smell it for hours in my bedroom. Will the plant smell stronger the larger it gets? Thanks in advance.
