In the health section of grocery stores there is a large selection of hempseed suppliments, hemp waffles, and everything like that. There are bracelets and necklaces made from hemp.

How is all of this produced if hemp comes from the marijuana plant, which is illegal to grow, sell or own? Are there special hemp plants that lack the hallucinagenic ingredient found in regular marijuana, or is there just permits to grow it and highly regulated security protocol where you need huge fences and the FBI comes to check on you on a weekly basis?

So can you legally buy hemp seeds in stores or it's too controversial and risky for any big stores to carry them?

(By the way I'm not trying to grow marijuana or anything, I've never even done any kind of drugs. I'm just curious.)

Both marijuana and hemp are of the cannabis genus. But, they are different species. Marijuana contains THC, the psychoactive ingredient. Hemp does not.

You can buy hemp seeds for feed purposes. But, they are sterile.

The hemp that is grown for food is not cannabis sativa, that is marijuana. It is related to it, but does not have the same hallucenogenic qualities. Unfortunately, the laws passed about growing marijuana included the whole hemp family, and farmers in the US now cannot grow hemp, which is one of the best food crops and as you have seen, also fiber plants. A lot of the hemp food that comes into the US is grown in Canada, where it is legal to grow, also hemp materials, and large quantities of hemp fiber come from Eastern Europe. All that macrame hemp that makes so many bracelets. It's all imported.

I'm not sure how the legality of hemp products works but I know that the products are out there.
There is no way that I know of that can take the substance (Delta 9 Tetra hydra canibanol) which is not a hallucinogenic but a gaseous form of alcohol, out of marijuana. All though it is thought that the Government has places that they grow pot, (it is known that they supply it to vets who suffered from agent orange poison, a chemical defoliant, while serving in Nam) No one else in the U.S. has the right to legally grow it or sell it, unless some laws have changed. Why health hemp, clothes and jewelery are available or how this can be is a mystery to me also.

The hemp in the store is a different plant than the Marajuana plant. They are related, but different.
