No, it's not normal, unicorns mainly only eat grass. Are you sure you are not mistaking him for a goat?

Sure it is, They also like Holly Bushes which have sharp, spiny leaves.
I have found that, like myself, Unicorns, no matter how old NEVER finish adolescence, Never get Old at HEART

It is quite normal, especially if the roses are the striped or spotted varieties.
My unicorns seem to prefer grape vines
