The potato or Solanaceae family

It depends on what it is poisonous to. A cat might not be able to have some things that a dog can have. A person can haver chocolate but most dogs can't.
So this is a broad question. As far as plants many different species have different reactions.
You will have to be a little more specific.

The castor bean plant is the most deadly of all plants. Eat a single castor bean, or perhaps two if you're an adult, and you'll die — maybe. If you live beyond three to five days, you will probably survive.
