I recently sprayed roundup on some grass that has over grown a planter area. The grass is some form of bermuda I think. It was in the process of "going to seed", to the point that touching the stalks would drop the seed. The grass has died, as expected, but I was wondering if the roundup would keep the dropped seed from germinating at some point. Currently the only things in the planter are various Iris's.... I couldnt find anything on the label regarding its effect on seed, dropped or still on the stalk.

I'm in warm and sunny SoCal, if it matters. If the seed isnt effected by roundup, and aside from spraying again when the seed germinates, any suggestions??

Here's the deal: I brought a potted bamboo plant to work with me around a year ago, and it wasn't much more than 8" tall, including the pot. Now, the thing's almost 2 ft. high... and still going strong. It's only been under a florescent light and I've been giving it bottled water (that I get free at work). The other bamboo that I have, at home, is near a window and receives pretty good sun, gets bottled water as well, and isn't doing even half as well as my work friend. So, I'm wondering how this could be, since I have no clue how plants operate and all that.

BTW, my work bamboo is named Wasabi.

Planted it back in March and it grew about 2 feet taller over the summer and produced a lot more leaves. It's now dropped down into the 60's and 70's in the daytime and 40's and 50's at night and I have noticed more leaves turning yellow and eventually dropping. I added a few jobes houseplant sticks around it a week or so ago (the little tiny ones) for some fetilizer, but other than that, it doesn't seem cold enough yet that t should be dropping leaves, or turning yellow, considering it's an evergreen. Any suggestions on what to do here or is this fairly normal??

I have a lot of roses from my wedding in all sorts of colors.
I would like to preserve some of the petal so they will last FOREVER!!!. If that is possible?
Does anyone know how to do this? And do the different colors need to be seperated or can they all be put together.
I'd like to put them in a shadow box. I think I've seen this done on TV years ago but can't remember what to do?
HELP!!!!

It's been there for years, and it's HUGE.
Yesterday, I took the garden shears to it and cut it down to a big clump.
Then I took a saw to it and cut it right back to its core. Now it's just a solid black stump about 2 feet across by 1 foot high.
I want to dig this stump out, but I've already broken 1 spade and 2 forks trying to do this. The handles just snapped with the sheer weight of pressure involved.
I don't want to use any kind of weed-killer or chemicals because I'm wanting to plant an apple tree in the hole when I eventualy get it out.
I can't afford to keep replacing broken spades and forks, so has anyone got any suggestions?

My 12-year old daughter's name is Rowan Elizabeth and ever since the day she was born, I've wanted to plant a Rowan in our yard. Although I understand now wouldn't be the time to do it, I thought now would be the time to start researching it! :)

First of all, I live in the Northeast (Mass), and was wondering if it would even be feasible? Secondly, I have checked some of the local nurseries around (ages ago though), and no one seemed to no anything really about them.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

So can anyone give me some idea which plant this is or where i can find a large database, that includes pictures, that i can find an answer to this.

They were obviously uncared for and all the flowers had dried out. However, they still had the pungent aroma of life. I checked the stims and they were still green.

What do I do now? Do I cut all the flowers off? The potted mixture was really dry and I have already watered it.

Now I just want to do what I can to revive them.

So....do I take them back to the trash bin or do you have a cure for the trash bin mums?

Thanks

It started growing about a month ago. I don't believe in using pesticides, so I didn't do anything to stop it. It finally killed the smaller plants, and is on its way to getting the larger ones.

What could I have done to prevent this? I grew zinnias last year (in the same spot) and they lasted a long time, without fungus.
