Is it ever possible to grow an apple tree indoors? I know most types of apple trees need to be outside, but are there any special kinds that do well indoors?

Thanks!

Growing apple trees indoors is new to me, but some of the dwarf varieties might be worth a try if you are adventurous. Here's a link to some fruit tress that can be grown indoors

Most fruit trees won't do well indoors. Apple trees are a cool weather tree and it probably won't get cool enough inside over the winter for it. Some citrus trees can do OK inside, given enough light. You might want to try one of those instead.

I have a couple of apple trees in12" pots and I do keep some inside in a greenhouse type room that are 5 or 6 years old

I do prune both branches and roots to keep them small

I also have a number in pots outdoor that I bring inside during heavy freezes because they are in pots

mostly though I am growing them to eventually plant in the ground

It might be possible to grow dwarf apple trees indoors if you had enough light. Having them fruit is another problem,as they need to be pollinated by insects, usually bees.
