They were obviously uncared for and all the flowers had dried out. However, they still had the pungent aroma of life. I checked the stims and they were still green.
What do I do now? Do I cut all the flowers off? The potted mixture was really dry and I have already watered it.
Now I just want to do what I can to revive them.
So....do I take them back to the trash bin or do you have a cure for the trash bin mums?
Thanks

I live in Virgina next to DC.
I also live in an apartment on the third floor. I do have a balcony that gets morning sun. So, should I cut them back to a few inches high or cut all the dead flowers off only?
Thanks...I may have a few more questions after you guys comment so please come back in and see me again.

Dear Mum,If the plants you found have good roots you are in luck, give them a good drink of warm water from the bottom of their pots. After a half hour if any water remains empty it out.Warm water is the clear thing as it aids the plant to access it quickly,They are rather like us,they tend to pull back from the cold.Cut the blooms off and cut the plants down by 1/3 .Water regularly.Watch out for pests, after awhile give some food for flowering plants and with care new flowers by the holidays.Good Luck, Stems minus flower buds can be rooted too.

You can try planting them out side. They prefer full sun to part shade. They'll come back in the spring.
For maximum blooms cut back the growth to like 2 inches right around Memorial day and leave them grow.

cut the plants back to about 3", put in a big pot if you have one, you can group them, set in a sunny place for the winter and watch them pop back in the spring. If they are in plastic pots and you are leaving them there then put an old cookie tray or something under them to hold a bit of water.
Let them grow and get lush until about the middle of July, prune back the buds for a fall bloom.

Lucky You !! Sounds like what you found are Fall Mums and they only bloom in the Fall. {I live in NY and our climate is similiar.}
Cut all of the dead flowers off and repot them in a good sized container.
They certainly will live if they have green stems.
I doubt that they will bloom again this year but certainly will next Fall.
It's a free investment so what the heck...it's well worth your time. :))
Keep them moist and Good Luck !!

Cut 'em back a bit and water them. Florist's mums may or may not be hardy in your area, so consider planting them out and letting them decide whether or not they're going to make it. They need more light than the average North American house can provide in winter.

If that isn't any longer coded as recyclable then do not put in contained in the recycle bins. It in basic terms isn't recycled if recycling is being performed legally by technique of your city. that is going to be taken care of out and thrown away. so that you'll besides throw it away your self. one element you may do is attempt to purchase fewer products that are plastic, use reusable bags for groceries, and easily do your section. comprehend what you your city's recycle rules are... it differs from one city to the subsequent. regardless of if that is recyclable plastic, paying for a lot less is perfect. as a replace of all those water bottles, use a filtered pitcher and performance a number of the reusable variety water bottles obtainable and fill them from the pitcher. you'd be shocked how a lot plastic that saves.
