A truly tropical tree, even S. California and Florida are considered too cold for it. It is listed as fast growing which often means short lived. Still, one would expect to see fruit production decline rather than stop altogether. The tree prefers a neutral soil (6.1 - 7.4 pH), and seasonal fertilization. While needing regular watering, it is intolerant of wet conditions. First link below to info and photo of fruit.

If you can find no reason for lack of fruiting in the linked article I suggest you try a product called Spray-N-Grow (See 2nd link below.), which I have found very good at inducing trees to flower and set fruit. What I remember is to spray about a month before flowering and every month after. You will need a dedicated 1 gallon pump-up sprayer (NOT a hose-end sprayer) as the product is activated in warm water for a short period before spraying. This is much like dissolving yeast in warm water before adding it to the flour for bread making.

This company also sells a very effective disease treatment called Physan 20. Any product not intended to mix with Spray-N-Grow must be mixed in, and applied from a separate container.

It could be due to the age or possibly due to how it's been kept trimmed and maintained. Don't allow the tree to get too big and trim it at the correct time of year. Also trim it to allow light to get down into the tree. I'd recommend consulting some tree pruning guides and also taking your soil to have it tested. A tree can show the signs of lacking a mineral in the soil very quickly.

I also remember seeing something on tv about forcing the tree to grow new roots. They made a circle x number of feet away from the tree then inserted the spade into the ground to cut the roots. If I remember correctly this forced the tree to grow new roots and produce better, but you might want to double check.

Apple trees should bear fruit for more than 13 years - but if your tree has stopped bearing there is an old farmer's method of getting it started again. In the springtime, drive half a dozen spikes into the trunk of the tree.It sounds goofy, but the shock usually starts the tree fruiting again - and the nails don't damage the tree.

Did you have a sudden cold spell in the spring? If your tree's buds were damaged by a sudden freeze after a warm spell, that could be the reason for no fruit. Don't give up the tree for lost, just wait another year to see if there is fruit.

Just be that parent that goes threw her music or you download together. Yes its not 100% legal just explain that to her so she understands. There is ALOT of ther things on lime wire besides music. Things you dont want your 13 year old seeing or understanding just yet. Make sure you let her know its music and music only or the comp and limewire are gone. Good Luck

come this winter trime the tree back some make sure all the limbs are cut back and if they are really small cut them all the way off, the tree might look a lil ugly for the winter but come this spring, it'll be quite flowery. and eventually fruity
