I want to grow my own flowers for my wedding, which is end of april, but I need some help. I am thinking either tuplis or lilies. If I wanted either of those two when would I have to plant them to bloom by the last week in April?

I just bought my first house and the woman who lived here previously had a beautiful yard (so the neighbors tell me) but she got cancer and let it all go.
The beds are full of grass, weeds, and flowers. The bulbs are showing above the dirt some. I tried to pull a bunch of the grass out but it seems like I'll never get it all cleaned out?
If I put mulch down, will that kill the grass without killing the bulbs? The bulbs are already sprouting which seems odd as I am in Wisconsin and there is still snow on the ground!

My husband and I just bought our first home and I'm very excited about planting my own flower beds and vegetable garden. I don't want to do anything extravagent, just basic beginner stuff until i learn more. Unfortunately I'm starting from ground zero with little to no knowledge on gardening and am in desperate need of some good resources.

I was wondering when should you start feeding and fertilizing your roses? I know you should stop feeding them around the first freeze. But when do you start again? I live in Denver, if that helps, Thanks!

i am getting a german shepherd pupppy in about 11 days and we have a 20-20 fenced in lot. i would really like for grass to be up there instead of all the nasty leaves and mud. because it would jsut be better for the dog. and my mother says it wont work if i clear out the leaves and try to but fertilizer and grass growing stuff... becuase there is no sunlight up there to help it grow (the lot is in between a lot of trees)! is she right or is there some way i could get grass to grow????

Thanks to anyone willing to take the time to answer. I do not have a lot of gardening experience, so please be kind.
:)

I am starting my 2nd attempt at an outdoor garden, but thought it would be nice to have some veggies grow in my house... perhaps even after the outdoor season ends.

1.) What kind of vegetables can be grown indoors?

2.) How deep of soil should I have to grow veggies?

3.) Do I need fancy gardening lights, or is sunlight through the window enough?

4.) If I do need fancy lights, would the cost of the lights and the electricity come out to a lot more than buying veggies from the store?

5.) How much light do plants need in a day.

6.) If I keep them in my porch instead of in a heated room, could they die when it is cold?
______
Seeds I have so far: bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, onions, scallions, broccoli, spinach, yellow squash, carrots, cucumber, brussels sprouts, banana peppers...

Thanks for answering any of these you may know.

I have rabbits in my back yard and the leaves are poisonous to them. I'd like to put them in pots in the landscaped area of our front (urban area CC&Rized) yard. There is nothing written against it... but I don't want the front yard to look Odd.

I have a 1200 gal water garden and i have done a 40% water change three times in the last 30 days to rid some of the phosphate...to no avail. The levels are way too high still, no plants will grow and i only have about 15-20 fish in there. 3 largest being about 8 inches, all others are their babies and are about 3 inches long. I can't put the phos-x media bags in my filter because i have a cannister filter that's in the ground, no media bag will fit in there...i can't figure where this is coming from. I have tap water that is treated when put in the garden.....anyone know what i can do or if there is a liquid product i can use to combat this? any help would be appreciated..thanks, April

Should I do it now, while the tree is still dormant, or wait until later this spring after it flowers, or in the summer or fall? This branch would be about one fifth of the tree. It is growing toward our house, and encroaching upon a smaller dogwood. I want to remove the branch to make sure the dogwood has room to grow.

Central Florida-We bought the home in 2005. The St Augustine grass in the front yard was filled with weeds. We had a professional company spray to kill old grass and eventually plug the yard. They didn't remove any weeds or old dead grass. We kept them for 6 more months waiting for the yard to look better while paying them to spray the yard. We dropped them because the grass never looked any better. Now it is Spring again, the grass still looks terrible. Plugs never grew and many of them are dead. What do we do? Can this be fixed or do we start all over again?
