And have been for two months. They are in the north facing part of the yard, one recieves full sun all day the other, part sun all day. Are these trees dead? How long should I wait for new growth before I give up the ghost and go for something more climate tolerant(I live in Queen Creek AZ) Thanks in advance!

ficus trees are very tough to grow sounds like they have had it but feed them some peters plant food if you dont see any changes in a couple of weeks they are dead

cut them back and put fresh soil on them no food or iron or anything just fresh dirt I have got mine back year after year and you may want to stay away from North side of house that may be the issue
