I was given tulips for Valentines...but they are now past their prime! I want to save the bulbs...do you simply cut the stems off?

Also, is it OK to now plant them outside (they came in a planter) and will they bloom again? Or should I wait until next year to plant them?

If I need to store them until next year, what is the best way??? Wrapped in newspaper???

I have this strange obsession with pomegranates, and I was curious if I could actually grow such a tree/bush in my current area of occupation. The weather ranges from 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to as low as 5 in the winter (but the average has been about 20 this year go figure) I also live close to the water. I was looking it up online and came to the conclusion that I could, but would most probably have to care for it indoors, but I was curious if anyone with a bit more knowledge on trees or bushes, could let me know if it would be possible to grow outside. Thanks in advanced for your time.

Well, i'm doing a science fair project on the growth of red bean plants, how long would it take for a red bean plant to grow to 15 cm, including the roots, in a plastic baggie and wet towel? I'll put it near a window for sunlight.

whats the most cost effective way to heat a greenhouse,8'x6'?
I was worried that my preferred choice, an electric heat/fan would cost too much to run.
But today having seen the cost of paraffin and guesstimating it will cost a fiver a week to run a paraffin heater I'm wondering if any fellow greenhouse owners could share their experiance.
thanks

I am trying a organic diet and want to grow my own vegetables without using pesticides. What is the best way I can grow lettuce & spinach without using harsh chemicals?

Also I have alot of clay in my yard, what type of dirt should I use?
Do I have to use a fertilizer? And if so what kind would you reccommend? (Not my own!LOL)

If you know of any great websites that tell you about growinbg your own vegetables (especially organic) I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
