There are a number of ways to do it, each have their benefits and drawbacks.

The best way is to use boiling water. Be careful though. I have a scar on the top of my foot from doing this. Boiling water cools pretty quickly though, so you only do damage to the intended area, but it does generally kill the roots.

Torching. Burn the patio, assuming they are not recycled rubber, plastic, or other meltable/flammable materials. Most noxious weeds will not come back once they have been burnt, so if you use a blowtorch or such on them, problem solved. Just be careful with this method.

Solarization. Put a couple sheets of plastic over the patio and weigh it down with bricks. It will take about a week, but it will kill weeds, weed seeds, and various micro-organisms that help plants grow.

Salt. Technically a chemical. The big issue with salt is that it dilutes with water and can damage neighbouring plants too. If you have plants that you want near your patio or downhill from it, don't use salt.

Pulling weeds. Sometimes, this actually has the opposite effect, depending on the situation. If you pull up loose dirt when you pull up the roots, you could actually be bringing more weed seeds to the surface and wind up with more than you had initially. However, if they aren't rooted well, this works.

WOW and other corn-gluten based pre-emergent herbicides DO NOT WORK. They work fine for lawns, but for areas where there is not competition (open flower beds, vegetable gardens, patios, etc.) they have little or no effect. With patios, they are actually going to have the opposite effect. They will put nitrogen in between the tiles, so although they will delay the weeds from sprouting, they will fertilize them once they do.

The other possibility, of course, is to plant something that you do want in the cracks. Creeping thyme, Irish moss, creeping sedum, etc. will outcompete the weeds once they are established.

I know the perfect solution if you are just starting with woodworking and also if you have already experience with it. I reccomend to give a look to this website ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info ) You can find a lot of woodworking plans and you will be able to manage the projects with a CAD/DWG software. It allows you to modify the projects and to alter the arragements. If you are a beginner this is the easiest way to start, it's the best approach to woodworking; and if you already have experience you will find a lot of ideas and inspirations to improve your abilities with woodwork. I'm sure that you will love it!

It's important to remove weeds before they produce seed heads, otherwise you'll weeds for years to come. But if you can't get to them in time and your weeds are reproducing, try spraying them with products like Garden-Ville Weed Killer or Bioganic Weed and Grass Killer. Both products are environmentally friendly.

For a natural pre-emergent, try WOW. It kills weed seeds before they germinate, and is made from a cornmeal byproduct.

Remember: When using pre-emergents, you will kill all seeds, including vegetables and flowers, so be choosy about where you spread it.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

with mulch! you can use a plastic cover in dark color( black) and cover your patio surface all over the weeds are grown but make some holes on it where your main plants are, after few weeks they will get yellow and die completely.... for watering your plants you can hold the plastic up for some min to get your plants water

Boiling water with salt in it and vinegar as well. The vinegar kills the seeds in the ground.
