I have thought of adding mismatched drawers I have and planting them; or sliding plastic bins in the drawer spaces and planting them. Does anyone have any other creative ideas that would work? I think using cascading types of plants would be effective. I already have such items as bathtubs, a sink, wringer washing machine, laundry tubs, old metal tool box, cream separator, etc. planted and they are very fun and showy. My neighbor thinks I have completely lost it with the dresser idea and I would like to prove her wrong!! Thank you for any ideas.

My lavender plant is in a pot outside. It has been doing very well.
The temperatures have dropped a bit & we are having less sun hours. One stock, on the top of the purple flower is browning. and
A few of the lower green leaves, about mid plant are begining to loose their deep green colour, They are on the verge of yellowing, this is happening to about 20o/o of the plant. We have had alot of rain. Do you think it is too wet maybe? Should I bring it inside to dry out a bit? What would you do?

I seem to have a new colony of bees moving into a landscaped area along the side of my house. Seems to be an in ground hive along the foundation. Any suggestions on how to deter/discontinue this from continuing without contacting an exterminator.

I live in Idaho and started some Moonflower vines.... a few outside and a few in a pot inside. I would like to know what the weather conditions are that start to kill them. Frost, obviously, but will cooler temps in general kill them?

Also, when do they flower? How can I prompt them into flowering?

Thank you all.

that he dug up from the side of the road while in Florida. It is doing fine now in a pot. I'm assuming that I must bring it inside the house before the first frost this fall.

My green plant keeps getting covered in a white pest, it looks like tiny bits of shaving foam, and when I wipe it it has a rusty colour on the kitchen paper. It keeps coming back, how can I get rid of it?

I have a small house with a tree somewhat close up, to the right of the house (when looking from the street). My Peony is tucked in on the left end of the porch, but I have nothing along the front of the right end of the porch (shaded over by the tree). I have tiger lilies that run along the tree and down the right side of the house which are starting to spread down the side, but have only made it about a quarter of the way. I'd like to have something that would work well in the shady areas, but I don't really care for the popular plants like hostas and such, I like different things that aren't seen too often. I'd ideally like to get some colorful (red and yellow - my brother is a Marine - and beachy blues) flowers around the area. I also like plants that 'do something' (attracting butterflies, etc) so big flowers and things like that interest me. Oh, I'm in NW Ohio.

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. I'm totally open since I'm new at this. Thanks

I've been making concrete leaf castings out of large leafs to make a backyard water feature and birdbath. Now that I've gotten the hang of it, I'd like to tint the cement leaves green, either before or after I make them (either mixed into the cement or painted on afterwards). The only colors of cement tint I can find at the hardware store or online are terracotta/red or black. Any ideas?
